Lovely story here at Reverie II. Grant Long, winemaker for Aonair, Blue Oak, Jack, and others, purchased the original Reverie label/brand from Diamond mountain after the owner sold the property. All current grapes and barrels were theirs and they moved their estate on the other side of 29, just down the road from Hunnicutt and re-branded as Reverie II. BEAUTIFUL new spot! Views are amazing. Part of the Aonair team left to now run this, so we knew before we showed up that it would be a great time.
Reverie II focuses on some unique wines...their white is a Marsanne Rousanne, and their reds are Tempranillo, barbera, Cab Franc, Cab Sauv and a special Reserve Cab Sauv. While all were enjoyable, this barbera was incredible. Totally blown away. Pinot-esque with the cherry and cedar notes, but the finish had the smallest hint of blackberries and blueberries. Acidic and wonderfully balanced. A must stop visit, if for the views only! — 7 years ago
loved it, very smooth — 7 years ago
Side by side with the 2015 hunnicutt cuvee equite. Man i love both these wines! These are 94-95 pts for me all day long. Both lush, dark fruit. The hunnicutt is a merlot based wine but it is right there with the big boy cabs. Scarlett is all about the sweet fruit where the hunnicutt has more spice. — 8 years ago
You know, when I coravin’d this last night, I thought the tannins were pretty strong and dominant. Today, I opened this up and coravin’d 2016 napa cabs from hunnicutt and quivet for a blind flight. Surprisingly, I thought this was very accessible and tasting the best currently. The quivet was the softest and also drinking nice. It tasted like a mike smith wine but less fruit forward than the majority of his wines. The hunnicutt was pretty powerful and I think needs some time or decanting. It will be really good. — 6 years ago
Side by side against the Hunnicutt Brinkman (GIII fruit), Bevan’s blend was more fruit forward, a little richer and more dense. Raspberry and blackberry morphed into a darker, slightly earthy finish still with pronounced fruit. Less complex than the Hunnicutt but still a great bottle of wine. Really hard to go wrong with either one. — 4 years ago
Merlot monday. Solid 30 dollar wine from napa.
Preparing my wine contribution for saturday's festivities. Showing some friends around livermore wineries so picked out some wines to show the terroir. These are my top 5 livermore wineries. And a couple napa wines for dinner as well.

Another rock star beckstoffer george iii! The hunnicutt version has the spice and is more lively at this point (also a 2013), but this myriad has darker fruit and flavors that last a while. So opulent and kick ass. These 2 wines are 2 of my favorites wines. It's splitting hairs. Both are so special but so different. — 7 years ago
Zin flight. Venge was fave actually. Venge, turley bedrock, gallo, and chase were all pretty similar stylistically and relatively restrained than the other 2 (hunnicutt and b cellars) Hunnicutt was very ripe, giant nose, a little hot, but tons of flavor. It needs air probably. The b cellars was softer than the rest with a little vanilla. — 8 years ago

@Delectable Please add Eastline Cabernet from Hunnicutt. It’s going to score well. I’m at 93-94 a week after delivery. — 4 years ago
