Not too hard not sweet very smooth — 5 years ago
Have been saving this 1997 vintage for a special day and Father’s Day 2019 arrived. We grilled a 12 oz rib eye, asparagus, baked potato and had home grown tomato..... Opened and aired for 1hr. Beautiful! Soft but definite black cherries, hint of coffee and whiff of dark chocolate. Smooth taste that lingers with minimal tannins and the taste with a bit of bitterness at the end that adds to the taste. Excellent! — 6 years ago
This wine needs good flavors to bring out its best qualities, had this with duroc pork, lentils with home grown beetroot and parsley. Wine would go well with any full bodied pasta or lamb chop. Really great food wine.

Grown on shallow chalky, limestone soils, and aged mostly in French Oak barrels. 15% ABV. Nose of ripe fruit and sweet cedar. Lush red plum fruit, with chalky mineral, graphite. cocoa, coffee and spice. Wine is a touch extracted and a little hot. — 5 years ago
Been breaking out some fun wines deep from the cellar to keep spirits HIGH during the stay at home Cali mandate. Day 10 is no exception......time for dinosaur steaks and a 2009 Bryant Family!!
Decanted 1 hour. An arresting deep dark garnet color(lots of cloudy sediment). On the nose: caught me completely off guard with stewed meat, black olives, band aids, some licorice, red berries, and floral. Taste: Wow, this is singing "Stairway to Heaven " ....no garage band version, this is Led Zeppelin 1970s!! Dark cherries, chocolate, espresso, tobacco.
A Mark Aubert beauty with fine, silky tannins coating the mouth. An elegant, rich, soft wine with a long toffee/blueberry finish — 5 years ago
Enjoyed this in the tasting room at the vineyard. I found it unique for the region and bought a bottle to take home. — 6 years ago
I love Black Star Farms, it’s one of my favorite wineries. Brought this home with me after my trip to Traverse City this Fall. — 7 years ago

Very good table wine! — 8 years ago
This may have been one of the best wines I’ve ever had. Perfect for a social distance night on the deck, 12 feet from our best friends. Served with a fabulous rigatoni with home made sauce. Perfect. — 5 years ago

Purchased wine at winery during visit to Sancerre in 2013. Grown on the slopes of Chavignol on Kimmeridgian limestone soil. Gold color. Round and floral on the nose. Grapefruit, lime, white peach fruit with a touch of honey and an herbal note. Bracing acidity with chalky minerality. Wine has aged well and drank very well over several days. — 5 years ago
We had left this bottle in a closet for 18 months, and when we found it and uncorked it, we discovered that the Sonoma influence had grown. The blackberry and cherry flavors had deepened, along with greater acidity. It is drinking beautifully, especially with sharp cheese. — 6 years ago
Starting to show a bit of brown around the edge—prob should have been popped earlier. But still a pleasant dinner companion. Definitely veering towards the lighter side of Sonoma Pinot... alcohol shy of 13...light mouthfeel... but enough cherry/berry to balance the acids and resolving tannins. I know it’s a bit of a cliche, but worked well with home broiled Alaskan King Salmon and farm grown late summer corn. — 6 years ago

This doesn't taste the jammy hot Zinfandels I've grown familiar. Still good amount of fruit. Acidity is demanding cure meat. — 8 years ago

From the spiritual home of the Fiano grape - Campania in Italy which is the area around Naples and the Amalfi Coast. Also grown in Sicily. The wine is pale yellow in the glass. Aromas of freshly sliced green apple and herbs. Same descriptors on the zesty palate with lively acid. A very polished white wine with good palate weight of medium plus intensity. You could cellar this for a couple more years if desired but right now hits the sweet spot for my palate. — 4 years ago
