French Laundry pairing with lamb. Fantastic! — 7 years ago
My first of the big Antinori wines, and as a birthday present to myself, popped the cork this year.
A fog laden forest of chestnuts and cedar form a vapor lock around this vegetable and herb stew slowly cooking over the campfire. All of these tastes, and smells swirl in this wine. Decanted 3+ hours. Going deeper..
When a wines finish lasts for longer than 5 minutes... Wow. — 8 years ago
Dark red color. Cherries and oak on the nose. Lush flavor of sweet berries, blueberries, plum, raspberries, violets, touch of white chocolate and sweet vanilla. Long finish, soft velvety tannin. Great with lamb. Check out this wine in Costco $36 — 10 years ago
Deep, Gentle, Glossy Black Currant, Roasted Herb — 10 years ago
Had it hidden in the apartment for a long long time. Wasn't sure how it would be after 10 years in so so conditions but it was fantastic. Delicious! Had it with a lamb stew and everything was perfect. Have a bunch of newer vintages in the cellar and counting down the time to for that special occasion to start enjoying them. — 11 years ago

Just love this wine, great value, can’t get enough! Belle Pente (bell-pont') means "beautiful slope" - for their 70 acre hillside vineyard & winery site in Willamette Valley. Bright Ruby red with aromas of red fruits, herb spices and hints of blossom notes. On the palate strawberry and cherry flavors, slight sweet undertones, herb notes and smooth tannins. Well balanced on a long finish ending with mineral herb notes. Nice!! Great value. — 5 years ago
While not the highest scoring wine of the weekend, it was my favorite. The 99 Palmer is gorgeously textured, sexy, velvet in the mouth, nicely rounded subtle dark red cassis, mint, menthol, dry stones, dark florals, forest floor, smoke, soft leather, iodine, fresh floral bouquet, beautiful round acidity and a well balanced elegant finish. Paired nicely with our Ribeye and rack of lamb. Still needed a two hour decant. If you have the 99, I’d hold it another 10 years if you have the patience. — 7 years ago
Yes very classic and still quite young but a very enjoyable wine. Cassis and mineral on the nose. In the mouth quite high in tannin and acid , more of the tobacco and mineral and black currant, slightly austere perhaps .. Quite reasonable finish and nice balance. Very British claret. Will age well I would imagine as all parts are in balance . I enjoyed it with roast lamb. — 9 years ago

Pale lemon-green with pronounce aromas of tropical and stone fruits with herb notes. On the palate flavors of melon, mango, apple, green peppers and a touch of boxwood. Medium+ length, balanced acidity, ending with a fruit and herbal character. Very good to drink now, no benefit from further bottle aging. Tasting Sample. — 6 years ago
Excellent Barolo. Had it at my birthday dinner with Amel, Marco, Ms Horneman, Mr Rogers, Yafi, Skip. Paired it with bagna cauda and vegetables, uova al verde, roasted lamb with resemary, farro risotto, tuma cheese. Pio Cesare is an institution. — 6 years ago
Great with lamb. — 8 years ago
Dried fruits and port like aromatics. Menthol, tobacco, oak, musty, dry with acid, tannin and alcohol in perfect balance. Very complex and ready to drink now. Serve with dry herbed lamb or aged hard cheese. 75% Temp 15% Garnacho 5% Graciano 5% Mazuelo — 9 years ago
Always love this wine. This vintage seems more fruit forward than other vintages with a lot of apple flavor. — 10 years ago
From Magnum, a monumental and tannic beast that needs at least 5 more years in this format. Charcoal and pencil lead into black fruit whose tannins create this black tea gestalt that hung there for over a minute. Even after an hour a bit monolithic, but did great with lamb loin, filets. This will get even better. Thanks again @benchmark and Brian & co @farm at carneros inn! — 10 years ago
2005 vintage. Enjoyed April 12. Very solid. Some modern notes. Great extraction. Vanilla notes clearly ring. Softened tannins. Great age point for drinking. Beautiful with lamb. Liked this a lot. — 10 years ago
Great full cab paired with steak and lamb. Fruity, tad sweet, hint of tobacco or something smoky sweet. Not as good as the 2006 though. — 11 years ago
Fruity but complex, aromatic but balanced. Light tannings, mid body. Great napa — 11 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Family-owned and operated started in 1999 by Dr John and Karen Bergstrom. Medium Ruby with fresh ripe berry fruit flavors, tea and floral spice notes. On the palate, cherry, cranberry and raspberry flavors with complex herb and orange citrus notes. Fine tannins on long finish ending with slight citrus character. Drink now while it’s fresh, will benefit from short-term aging. I like ‘17 better than ‘16. — 4 years ago
