Excellent nose, one of those wines you want to keep sniffing more than sipping. Excellent aroma. It is more a food wine, very suited for grilled steaks. I lack the vocabularies to describe the heavenly aromas. Taste leans toward acidic, highly suited with grilled red meats to cut the fats. Outstanding! — 6 years ago

Heavenly nose. Complex like you would not believe. Red confectionary fruit. Earthy, granite, cotton candy hint almost. This is stunning. Elegant and so finesse driven. Insane freshness. Red fruits and super mineral infused and so fucking clean. What acid. Really tannic. Needs 3-4 hours or 10-15 years. It's all there.

After 2-3 hours of air this has gotten extraordinarily unreal. Sweet fruit. Crunchy like a Roumier. Stunning clarity and precision. This is seeing. — 9 years ago

Still vibrant, exquisite concentration of flavors, no oxidation at all yet! but the tannin has almost all melted away and the almost 3-decades of aging is bringing out wonderful tertiary accents to complement the fruit, cedar, wet asphalt and a hint of white truffle. 😇 I looked up to the sky & the Purple Angel came down upon me filling my glass with light blocking purple ruby rain that oozed aromas of black & blue berries w/ thick chocolate, vanilla, dates, heavenly minerals & smokey oak - “drink this godly juice” she said in a booming voice🍷

I dared embrace the heavenly nectar & succumbed to a full on palate explosion of ripe dark concentrated blackcurrant/berry bathed in raspberry cocoa and minerals💥

My mouth was left open in awe as my purple stained teeth yielded to the long silky fruit loaded intense finish & I myself turned into a naughty purple devil - spank me angel, spank me 😈
