Ballard Canyon Estate Syrah 2018

Needs about 2 hours of air. Great nose of flint, baking spice, sweet cranberries, plums, white pepper. Palate is well balanced with similar flavors maybe more savory than baking spice. I get some fennel and more types of pepper. Good fruit throughout but more dark and tart. Impressed. — 6 months ago

A Tribute to Grace Wines

Santa Barbara County Grenache 2019

This 2029 is elegance in a bottle. One of the most feminine, lithe Grenache’s I’ve ever had. An almost indescribable mid palate. Like a ruby with a thousand facets. Wonderful soothing lingering black tea finish. — 9 months ago

White Hawk Vineyard Syrah 2013

2013 Herman Story Syrah White Hawk
Dark purple in color. Medium + bodied.
What a nose -comes off prosciutto, lavender, spice black jam.
Screaming blackberries, ground pepper, gaminess. Silky tannins, light acidity & a great finish. What’s not to love.
Very close to a PNP...let it open up in your glass for a short bit of time.
Wouldn’t wait more than a few years to drink these up. IMHO

PS Santa Barbara County Syrah 2016

One of the best new world syrahs I’ve ever had. Old world savory stem, peppercorn and violets with the amplifier cranked up by a notch or two on the ripe, glossy blackberry and raspberry fruit component. Abundant freshness and tannic structure to frame the opulent fruit — 7 months ago

The Offering Syrah Blend 2016

It’s gorgeous from stem to stern. We tasted it straight out of the bottle in addition to a good-time of decanting and while different experiences between the two- this is a luscious, GORGEOUS blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre- and a splash of Viognier. It’s the perfect bottle to take to pair with lamb, steak- SHRIMPIES, whatevs. We were blown away. It is NOT cheap- but with regard to value- I’ve yet to meet its equal. — 4 years ago

Didn’t think much of it on day one, corked up and forgot about it with busy schedule.
Day 3 figured its time to dump, but tried a glass before hand, it was pretty good. I’m continuously surprised by this winery
