Great balance and character, a beautiful creation from a blending varietal. — 9 years ago
Direct hit to the heart. Beaujolais spirited syrah that offers a super fruit nose composed at first of blueberrie sirup then blackberry with a violet hint after a few swirls. Non filtered with a hint of a gas when opened, no bretts; this suggests coherent and traditional wine making (+ high drinkability when successful). Clearly among the best wines I've tasted from Oregon. — 10 years ago
Color of dark purple, I will say darker than usual cab. Powerful leather note on the nose, hotness of alcohol, tobacco leaves, cinnamons, and barrel notes. I wonder why I am the only one who doesn't get the fruity fragrance. Taste of medium strong tannins, dry with a touch of sweetness from cherry, herby, oaky barrel, some sour cherries, really oaky. Aftertaste of smoky oak, nice lingering herby notes, and sweetness. This is an interesting cab, as the flavors are leaning toward oak and herbal notes. This one shall have the potential to age! — 10 years ago
California Duck migration North. Duckhorn's Washington State adventure looks promising. Full, meaty, and smooth. And taste True to Washington. For their 2nd bottling a great effort and one I expect would get deeper and open with a few years in the bottle because it feels to be holding back from its full potential. Tasted over two nights. — 10 years ago
Osoyoos Larose 2002. Beautifully, classically rendered Bordeaux blend from the Okanagan Valley, still very young. This is an ambitious partnership between local firm Vincor and Château Gruaud-Larose. — 11 years ago

Another good "freebie" from my wine mentor Ted! Really enjoyed this wine! — 11 years ago
Tasted blind - to a man was called Cali cab from the 80s. What a surprise! Classic cab character still with 5+yr potential IMO — 12 years ago

One of my favorite Syrah from Washington State. Walla Walla. Deep ruby red with a wonderful nose. Silky and burst of black fruit somewhat dry. Had it at Zinc in San Antonio. — 8 years ago
Delicious souvenir from our Seattle visit. Paired most excellently with grilled NY strip — 9 years ago

A light and pleasant start. A little mild for a cab. Some sweetness which wife did like. A nice bouquet. Good if under $10, however I don't recall where I purchased. A solid 4 stars based on the smoothness from beginning to end. — 10 years ago
Another value gem from Columbia Crest. Ruby red, earthy with deep berry. Nice finish. Great value. Had it with flat iron steak. Washington State good again. — 10 years ago
Medium purple color with moderate body. Flavors run deep with this one. Tannins are developed but the acidity is well under control. It's considerably richer and with smoother finish than its 2011 counterpart. It's tastes like its about 1/4 of the way from a Cabernet to a port. Hedges has always been my favorite WA wine, and this 2007 Red Mountain does not disappoint. — 11 years ago
A 2011 offering from the Columbia Valley Long Shadow Vintners Collection featuring a delightful blending of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. — 11 years ago

A very solid effort from WA. 73% Cab, 18% Merlot, 9% Cab Franc. Opened an hour before pouring and it needed it. I would decant for 30 if opening in 17 or 18. Quite nice, smooth tannic structure and bright berry fruit on the palette. — 9 years ago
Welcome to Friday and I have picked up a Right Bank Bordeaux Blend from the state Washington the 2013 DeLille Cellar D2. 57% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.
Upon opening, there is beautifully expressive dark fruit wafting over the rim of the glass with a lasting impression of blackberries, black currant, black cherry, plum, sweet ripe strawberry, cassis, cherry licorice, and sweet tobacco.
With the first taste on the palate there is lovely blackberry, black cherry, kirsch, strawberry, black currant, green bell pepper, and bit of leather, and a smokey note.
This wine is well balanced with medium + acidity and a smooth mouth feel with fine sandy tannins.
For a second lable wine this is a hell of a deal. For a young wine this is drinking well right now. I would recommend this wine all day long.
