The white star of the evening, despite having a subdued nose of prickling minerality, lemon zest diesel kumquat and spice. Not going to be a real long-lived vintage, but may probably show even better in 5 years. Palate was explosive and concentrated to the point of pain, layered with fresh spicy kumquat. A lighter color than usual due to solitary old barrel use in this one, a bit lighter in body but by no means less potent. Outstanding blanc! 1991 vintage. — 11 years ago
Fire woman! Brilliant. No cheap caramel here. The real deal. — 12 years ago
A great value at 20 US dollars. Brick-red, pronounced nose with a spectrum of red fruit and black cherry, leather, tobacco and truffles. Caramel and moss are very pronounced too. It may have passed its peak but nevertheless, it is still a pleasant Gran Reserva that is complicated and not tired at all. In the mouth, suave tannin with very accessible acidity, fruit, truffles and leather are displayed with a pretty lengthy finish on animal fur and caramel. This wine should be enjoyed the moment that it is accessible and without decantation, the fruit and finish will go down rapidly after an hour's decanting with more account of notice on alcohol. 87points. Real well made wine, balanced, lots of acid for a Rioja. Aged characteristics. Soft — 9 years ago
Otro find de gondola, la verdad que el 2004 fuè un gran año Rioja y este lo comprueba, estaba marcado en 12.99 y pernoctó en la tienda 10 años. Hay q rescatar todos Los 2004 y 05 españoles — 10 years ago
1968 Vina Rēal Cosecha Gran Reserva Temperanillo blend. Drank this at Reddwood lunch for A&S' birthday. Hard to believe this wine was almost 50 years old. We didn't decant this and it was great- held up perfectly. Gorgeous brick color, still fruit on the nose, elegant and slightly sweet finish. So fun to try! — 10 years ago
One of our last home cooked meals before we leave. Everything packed so it was served on paper plates and plastic spoons, but we still have real wine glasses. This Cab/Tempranillo blend is still youthful with a tight nose of ripe plums and figs, lively black and red fruit, leather and coffee with a hint of sweetness, and long firm tannic finish. Great value. — 11 years ago

Medium straw yellow.
Beautiful unique bouquet of roasted almond, sour dough, and cashew nut. Surprisingly fruity, citrus note (more lemon/lime than tangerine).
On the palate, this is a refreshing wine. Briny, zesty, and herbal.
It goes so well with all kinds of food. Real underrated food wine. Most importantly, I popped this bottle about 7 months ago and I am still drinking it today. Amazingly long lasting. 90. — 9 years ago
