A wine for a social drinking. Best served with more wine. — 8 years ago
100% Pedro Ximenez
Medium straw yellow.
Beautiful unique bouquet of roasted almond, sour dough, and cashew nut. Surprisingly fruity, citrus note (more lemon/lime than tangerine).
On the palate, this is a refreshing wine. Briny, zesty, and herbal.
It goes so well with all kinds of food. Real underrated food wine. Most importantly, I popped this bottle about 7 months ago and I am still drinking it today. Amazingly long lasting. 90. — 8 years ago
Otro find de gondola, la verdad que el 2004 fuè un gran año Rioja y este lo comprueba, estaba marcado en 12.99 y pernoctó en la tienda 10 años. Hay q rescatar todos Los 2004 y 05 españoles — 9 years ago
1968 Vina Rēal Cosecha Gran Reserva Temperanillo blend. Drank this at Reddwood lunch for A&S' birthday. Hard to believe this wine was almost 50 years old. We didn't decant this and it was great- held up perfectly. Gorgeous brick color, still fruit on the nose, elegant and slightly sweet finish. So fun to try! — 10 years ago
Cor bem escura e com bom corpo. Aroma bem amadeirado e agradável. O sabor dele é aveludado, sabor de madeira bem presente, bom rastro. É um excelente vinho. — 5 years ago
Elegant with cassis and wet rocks on the nose. Flavor is nice. Deep and rich. Slightly smokey/peppery. Complex. A real Gran... — 7 years ago
Big and brooding. Plum, currant, toasty oak, vanilla, and mocha notes. I have long been a big fan of the Medella Real Gran Reserva. Relatively easy to find. Great price. Always reliable. It’s one of those wines that will appeal to both the newly-initiated and experienced tasters. I also love that it’s so multifaceted. You can drink it alone or with a burger, and it has enough structure to pair with a steak. You won’t go wrong always having some of this on hand. — 8 years ago
Real well made wine, balanced, lots of acid for a Rioja. Aged characteristics. Soft — 9 years ago
Fruity, warm, with real depth of flavor. Smooth and spicy! — 9 years ago
Superb wine! More powerful than the Gran Reserva ‘10. Great nose of red fruits, woodsmoke, spices, forestfloor, milkchocolate and coconut. Fully integrated fruit in the mouth with velvety tannins and al lot of depth and great length. Very juicy wine and a nice surprise! — 7 years ago
Gentle nose of black currant, leather, black tea, Chinese medicine herbs, vanilla, with hint of incense and tobacco leaf. Medium body. Vibrant palate with fresh acidity and additional taste of cherry and sweet spice. Mellow tannins.
It's mind boggling that this sells at Costco at $19.99. I don't know how C.V.N.E do it. I prefer this over the 09 Vina Real Grand Reserva. Maybe I should retaste the Vina Real. — 8 years ago

Compost on the nose, although we just opened this 6 year old bottle. So, ok. Truth time. We've had carmenere wines before and thought they were oddly flavored, off balanced, and overall not so great. Whew! Got that off my chest. This wine shows some real promise. Fully flavored with lovely red fruits, smooth tannins and silky finish. We enjoyed this and am sure it will open up. — 4 years ago
