As advertised; jammy but unsweet opening, robust mouthfeel with a long bold finish of leathery goodness — a year ago
A blend of 80% Tempranillo with 15% Garnacha, rest Graciano and Mazuelo, aged 5 years in American oak, deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits, spice and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of strawberry and black cherry with spice, tobacco and cedar notes. Fine rustic tannins, long finish, savory ending with tobacco and earthy character. Nice! — 3 years ago

Founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga Martínez, now run by next generation. Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe fruit, smoke & spice, A blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, & Graciano from top Haro producer. On the palate ripe blackberry and cherry, firm dry tannins with smoky oak, wrapped in perfect acidity. Aged 30 mos in French & American oak + 18 months in the bottle before release. On the finish a touch of vanilla on a long ending. Will continue to improve! Nice! Tasting Sample. — 6 years ago

Delightful and not over the edge yet. Dont think it gets better and with too much air it started to show its age. The nose pops out of the glass. It’s a deep fruit/berry aroma. No alcohol on the nose or palate. It has a rich, deep flavor profile, not overly sweet, clean not cloying. I don’t get any greenness or bramble which while sometimes I like it generally don’t so this is really singing for me. — 8 months ago
A Cabo Costco find. Nice value priced wine. Would buy again. — 2 years ago
Medium bodied, peppery, medium tannins. — 4 years ago
Bought this bottle in Spain 2016. I think Madrid! Didn’t drink it until December 2019. Very smooth!! — 6 years ago
Another lovely wine! Better than last night but only marginally, so same score. These Spanish and Portuguese wines have the best textures. Definitely drink a little bit on the warmer side. This wine has more fruit and rust elements. Very refined and paired nicely with the suckling pig. — 6 years ago
Roda 1 is one of my go to Rioja loves 💗 & is superb for the money @ £35-£40 😉 The 01, 04 & 05 were all top wines 👍 The 2011 is showing well & a great example of a modern Rioja 👍 Nit a deep as other vintages & more fresher but fab still 😎
📍 Roda 1 2011 Reserva
🏵 92 points w/ more potential for sure
🍇 91% Tempranillo, 8% Graciano & 1% Garnacha
🍷 Deep opaque ruby w/ a purple hint
👃 Soft smokey oak through dark cherry w/ touches of herbs, cocoa, peppered spices, red berry liquorice, earth & blackcurrant
👄 Med body of creamy dark cherry bathed in cocoa w/ a black berry fruit & raspberry kick evolving into sone prune & date tones as it opens after a few hours - the Grenache brings a lovely freshness to this vintage 👍
🎯 Med+ dry cherry driven dark fruit linger w/ a hit of minerality & a red berry fruit kick
🍛 Went amazing on its own & with Mrs Es 🍗 curry 😍 Pics on Instagram ⏩

One of my faves. The unique iodine taste of a Spanish rioja paired beautifully with the duck. Wow. — 4 months ago
