Our favorite primitivo so far! — 9 years ago
Nice pleasant, well balanced, smooth from the beginning to the end. I like acid start with flavor and peppery and spicy finish in balanced way.. This is it. — 10 years ago
Dark crimson red with pretty brilliancy, very dark blood-like. The elegance in this wine continues with its nose. Impressive bouquet of exotic aromas. Fine leather with plum scented shoe polish; all in appealing taste and harmony. Great length provides a long ride, ride from its sensational entrance, offering flavors of sour cherries. The long tannins offer a very polished experience; quite mature. Its acidity is also persistant, educated but mouth-watering, with clear plum flavor. Lots of plums slowly transform into flavors of milk chocolate, spices, and fine tobacco, providing incredible complexity and a long and delicious finish. Quite an amazing and sensational wine of long, elegant performance and complexity. 93 pts. — 11 years ago
Great value and change up from the French grape blends. The nose raisin & molasses- Armarrone like. Full taste of fresh sundried fruit - plums/dates/figs with a tad pit of smoke which completes a rich full end. — 12 years ago
Still don't know what to make of this. Ask me again in a few hours. — 8 years ago
Puglia Rose always worth searching out — 9 years ago
Typical apulian primitivo wine but it's been aged in bottle after time spent in barrels. Strong but with a round taste. At the beginning it was 15° but now at least 16-17°. The wine cellar exists no more and only a few bottles remain. — 9 years ago
Really fun. Savory funky spicy side of the grape. Nice acids. — 10 years ago
Primitivo is a dark-skinned grape variety used in certain inky, tannic wines from the Puglia region of deepest southern Italy. — 11 years ago
Da vigne di 60 anni ottimo esempio di Primitivo di Manduria, peccato per l'alcolicità forse un po' eccessiva, 16 gradi mi par di ricordare! — 12 years ago

Strong kick but great flavor. Heavy liquorish and dark fruit with a lot of tannin. A break from the norm can be rewarding. — 9 years ago
the real primitivo wine strong but pleasant and rich of mature blu berry flavor — 9 years ago
A Primitivo Riserva that is incredibly reminiscent of a reserve Amarone. Silky smooth and not too sweet. Highly recommended to all my friends in the mood for an Interesting Amarone like experience. — 11 years ago

Delightful, easy drinking primitivo. Really exciting on the nose: blackberry, tobacco and dark chocolate. Cinnamon white pepper, and Hungarian paprika are added on the palate (midpalate to finish), and the dark chocolate notes appear more as dark roast coffee on the palate. Score is lower than I would give it otherwise because it is a bit flabby for my taste. This makes it a good easy drinker though because it is very smooth. Acid is on the low side for the varietal and you really only get the tannins on the finish. Definitely one to buy again though. Good value at $20 and quite approachable for dinner party guests. — 8 years ago
