Nice red for a roast. — 7 years ago
Drank at Bottles in Paris with Sarah and Brice Garrett from Serrano Wines in Paso Robles.
Dark ruby red. Dark nose with some floral notes, dark berries, and a little savory. Medium plus (6.5/10) and full bodied. Some herbs on the palate, savory, leather and dark raspberries. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2027. (91+) — 8 years ago
This was top 10 chardonnays for me. Buttery, creamy but not a butter bomb. Drank this with the Baer’s in Lake Bluff thanks to Scott Garrett — 8 years ago

@Tom Garrett everyone loved the Cab Franc today. Always a party pleaser — 6 years ago
Fridays are for Franc! And I. LOVE. THIS. WINE. I could not believe the aromatics that exploded from the bottle when I pulled the cork. Seriously it was like there was a blueberry pie baking in the kitchen. Decanted for an hour or so. Deep magenta in the glass. Loads of Cherry and blueberry on the palate mingle with vanilla, chocolate, herbs, and earth - very rich, but so incredibly balanced at the same time. I’ve been a longtime fan of Detert wines and this very well may be my favorite vintage of their Franc to date. I’m just wowed. Can’t wait to revisit this again and see how it evolves. Really well done @Tom Garrett (as always). — 8 years ago
Had this after drinking spiced mulled wine for the holidays. It was refreshing—much less sweet but still a fruity easy to drink glass. Garrett and I bought the wine on recommendation from a sommelier in Rome. — 8 years ago
Inspired by @Peggy Hadley and her visit with @Tom Garrett - I had to open my favorite vintage of this wine so far. So incredibly delicious I can’t say enough good things. Silky mouthfeel, great red fruits, graphite, leather, medium acidity, soft tannins - just so incredible. Pop and pour goodness. — 8 years ago
Just friggin awesome. Garrett rocks! — 8 years ago
Agreed with Garrett Pierce one of the best if not the best NW Chardonnays I've ever had — 9 years ago
Very tasty! Depth and levels of flavor. Great with rich foods. — 7 years ago
This wine made me a Chardonnay lover! Not usually a fan because of the oakiness, this wine changed my mind. Crisp and clean, refreshing! — 7 years ago

Another example of how great the wines being made by Dakota Shy are. Todd Newman and Tom Garrett have a knack for making great wines. This Cabernet, even very young, sends a message to every other iconic Napa cabernet they have something to contend with. Lots of black fruit and blue fruit on the nose with incredible flavors of blackberries, plums, and currants. I love this wine. — 8 years ago
This is a beautiful bottle of Brunello from my good friend Garrett and Tiffany! Amazing nose, and a long complex finish. Perhaps could have benefited if I had waited another couple of years but I just couldn't wait!! — 8 years ago

Wow! One of the oldest vintages of any kind I ever tasted. Deep, thick and amber colored. Oxidized very much like a Sherry. Still a hint of spice, apples and pears. Did not notice typical Gewurtz floral notes. Great wine to wind up a tasting. Thanks to Garrett for letting us taste this one! — 8 years ago
