Great complex flavor — 6 years ago
Last night, a buddy of mine who’s a Disabled Veteran and Registered Architect, announced that he was assuming control of a SDVOSB Architecture firm. He had spent the better part of a year of trying to reach a purchase agreement. So it was an evening of celebration. He’s been a Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars fan for some time and he planned to pull the cork on a few bottles. We had a couple of rando bottles too but all were California Cabernet Sauvignon. This was the opening salvo and a very good one at that. Perfumed, lush, velvety fruit with lovely structure. Hugely quaffable and already drinking very well with a short decant but I think this is pretty characteristic of the 2014 vintage. — 6 years ago
Wonderfully refreshing on a hot summer afternoon. — 7 years ago
My buddy Luke is moving to New York next week and knowing he enjoys young Napa cabs, I thought this would be a good bottle to open as a send off! This was my first Cult that I was able to purchase when visiting last year (though I’m well aware of its fanfare on here, especially from Martin “Beau Rivard” @Martin G Rivard)
Not quite pop and pour, but close. Another one of those ‘14s that epitomes the words “plush”. The fruits are so soft and pronounced...black and blue fruit, decadent milk chocolate, licorice and sweet oak. Obviously young on the palate but drinking quite well after an hour or so of being open. Lovely texture. Blueberry compote & plum on the finish. This is one of those wines that obviously benefits from time, but probably drinks better young than with substantial age. 👌 — 8 years ago

I’ll stand by my June 24, 2021 rating. Consistently great. — 4 years ago
Sourced from the Walla Walla Rocks District, this opens with Umami and nori tones that mingle with Mandarin orange rind, and guava puree tones that all dance in the glass. The palate is plush, showing off its silky texture. Layers of bright red fruits collide with minerals, charcuterie, citrus rind accents and stony undertones on the palate. Sinfully good in its youth, this beautiful wine will cellar well over the next decade. Drink 2020-2030- 94 — 5 years ago

First time trying this producer. Wonderful food wine! The hype is real for Comando G. — 4 years ago
2020/5/24 with grilled ribeye, eringi with fennel, tarragon and chives, whitebait aglio olio and radicchio salad. This had a wonderful balance of taut structure and fruit intensity, while still remaining light and translucent. That, with the red fruit and spice nose, gave it an almost Burgundian feel - it was also quite distinct from the other Fay bottles. — 5 years ago
Medium bodied, rich and juicy for a Valtellina. Savory & mineral, dried roses, cherries, prune, tobacco, some oak, anise. From Flatiron Wines. — 6 years ago
Best bottle I’ve had of this wine yet. Really fresh and juicy. — 7 years ago

Unique white wine that is incredibly versatile in pairings and offers elegance, floral notes, and atypical meatiness that remains undeniably quaffable making this wine a delicious and improbable contradiction. — 7 years ago

From everyday wines, smooth and minerally. Cheaper than the white Bordeaux that I like — 9 months ago
