This keeps impressing, easily comparable to Trimach Cuvee Frederic Emile. Heavy petrol with citrus, but not as much complexity as other Aussie Rieslings. Nice finish but not particularly lengthy. — 2 years ago
These old Brouilly are really incredible! Intense notes of peppery wild strawberries, truffle evolution, undergrowth, dried flowers, blood orange.. the finish is persistent, like the fragrances of a perfume, intertwining fine tannins and endless acidity veins, with light bitters welcome.

Vintage 2015 / Imagine you find a vineyard with almost 50 years old Chenin Blanc and you are able to make wine from it. Frederic Mabileau must have been thrilled. This vineyard in Saumur is 1 hectare. Minerals in smell, a lot of minerals. Also vanilla (16 months en foudre). Hints of tropical fruit, hay, enormous powerful in taste with good acidity. Good tipicity. Lots of concentrated ripe red and black fruit, but between the hint of barnyard, good oak integration, lower alcohol and elegant body it’s very well restrained and enjoyable. Maybe a bit rustic but very well done  — a year ago
