New one from Thorle. A favorite grape. Nose is all violets and spices. Tweed jacket and wool as well. So unique. Superb minerality and earthiness. Love the nose here. Not sure how much Rheinhessen Fruh I’ve actually had. Not much if any.
Palate is sweet and silky with terrific purity, concentration and sap. Very very nice. Violets, red cherries and some blackberries as well. Really great sweetness and ripe tannins. Terrific wine and value. Really wonderfully textured and so elegant. This bats way way above its class. — 4 years ago
Wild feral nose. Red cherries, spice, loads of spice, chestnut, wood shavings, violets but wow spice. Must be the Frühburgunder. Palate is hyper elegant with lovely finely knit tannins and mid season cherry fruit. Very pure. Juicy. Needs a few hours to open. Finish starts off short. I’ll be back.
After 20 minutes this got sick. Huge violets on the nose and the finish is long, complex and lingering now. Gorgeous sweetness and purity. Dazzlingly fresh and long. — 6 years ago
Fruh = early ripening. (I just found out, as opposed to the later ripening Spat.) Burgunder = you probably know what it equals. The combination equals something extremely nuanced and light and delicious — 7 years ago

Fränkische Rarität .... Kirschnote, voller Körper mit einem leichten Aroma von Vanille und Holz — 8 years ago
Weird but ultimately great. Quite pure terroir that's very stalky/foresty and somehow raw. Good dark fruit underneath. Very long. Initially low acidity but pulls together with ample air. — 10 years ago
Vintage 2015 | Frühburgunder makes me uncertain when to drink it? Very young within two years, are can it be kept and develop extra taste...? Enfin, this Ahr wine has a elegant smell at age six years. With caramel impressions and lovely raspberry. Also elegant and vibrant in taste. Paired with a burger. — 4 years ago

Stunning. None of the palate gap I’ve had in other frühburgunder. Huge fun in a blind lineup. — 4 years ago
