Nice blend from great winery — 6 years ago
Good fruit but the herbs, earth, and flowers really sing. Very fresh and tasty fruit even 6 years on. What an awesome wine. If you find it for 16 bucks or less through the wind gap sell off, pick up a few bottles. — 6 years ago
This wine has so much going on. It’s like a life-form amalgam of animal/vegetable/mineral. Color is like plasma. Nose has raw grass-fed beef, liquid stones, and mentholic Ben-Gay thing, resinous herbs, lime, charcoal ash, and tangy boysenberry. Seriously. Lots of shit happening. It is mouthfilling and loaded with clingy, soft tannin, and has bloody, minerally, dark berry skin flavors for miles. Long finish and good acids. Only 13.9%, which, these days, passes for low alcohol. Terrific wine. — 7 years ago

Never been much for Malbec, but this one is special! Great blend of fruit and spice notes. Love the art and passion that goes into this wine. — 6 years ago

2017 Reserve. Medium straw color. Aromas of banana esters, melon, and slate. Taste peaks early with a long finish. Elements of gravel or clay. Deliciously dry. — 7 years ago

Fruity start, a little green pepper on finish — 5 years ago
v13. Very good. Lengthy decant. Soft, candied cherry and smoked meat nose. Rich, blackberry and black cherry fruit. Full round, black pepper and earth finish . The legs on the glass never end!!!! — 5 years ago
It’s dark. Black-purple. Slightly edged in red. Nose is heady. Stewed fruits and dark unsweetened chocolate. Moss. Wet moss in there too. And some herbal extract. Not sure which. Flavor is rich. Slightly ‘sweet’ or fruity. Dark, ripe stone fruits. Plenty of acid cuts through though. Not stain the teeth and dry the tongue tannic as some Petite Sirah tends towards. There’s a smokey, savory element in there too. This is great. A big red, but one with elegance and style.

Closed down, bracing acidity and tough as nails straight out the bottle.
After being open for 24 hours this is a different and slightly more welcoming wine showing better true varietal character.
Despite the slender body (12.8% ABV) I wouldn’t be surprised if this really will be singing in 3+ years.
90+ pts in my book today (after aeration). — 6 years ago
I look forward to seeing where this goes in the next 5 years. Jammy and berries all over. — 6 years ago
Hitting its stride since LBT. Unwound and has fleshed out just a touch. Cracked pepper, hung meat, woodsmoke, bay leaf, wild berries, crushed cherry. Mineral laden throughout the palate. Fresh and just fun to drink with its very agreeable ABV. I love these wines upon release for how high-toned they are, but some recent bottles at the 5 year mark have really got me interested in how harmonious they get with a little bottle age. — 7 years ago
