Clear light yellow. Nose of lemon and wet stone. Lovely balanced palate with citrus, herbs, minerals and a bit of exotic fruits. Long pure finish with acid in balance. Really beautiful stuff. — 2 years ago

Light golden color with a tinge of green. Beautifully perfumed with aromas of apricots and honey with a dash of pears. Chamomile and lilacs with green apples and slate. Riesling has never truly been my jam in my past but this is a really nice example of what the grape can be. Sharp acidity and nice purity of fruit.

Off dry with just the right amount of sweetness here, this has terrific balance throughout. Smooth and elegant, with a nice level of refinement. The palate features Meyer lemons, melons, and crisp citrus fruits. Slate, minerality, and a bit of spice. Light and decidedly fresh, these Hofgut Falkenstein wines are indeed the real deal. — 4 years ago

This is light bodied but so intense. Lots of chalk and minerality, and of course loads of acid. Long finish. Fruit is definitely secondary to the minerality. Quite nice. — 7 years ago

My first 2019 Falkenstein. Similar to the few Falkenstein’s of previous vintages that I have consumed , the wine’s acidity takes front & center stage . A nose of lime , peaches and stone fruit put a smile on my face. In the mouth a structure that tickles your mouth like a lovers tongue. Just when you think sweetness might take over, the acidity behaves like a boxer who has their opponent on the ropes. A wave of minerals leave a long caressing finish in the mouth. — 4 years ago
