Pale to mid Ruby in colour with great clarity. Aromatic red and black Cherry notes with rose petals. A stalky whole bunch note with a little spice. Those fresh cherry notes of medium weight but medium plus intensity transfer through to the palate. Very fresh, young with great potential for future complexity. I can see why it won the Trophy for Best Pinot Noir at both Royal Adelaide and Royal Hobart - both shows with extensive and high quality Pinot entries. Too young but I had to try the first of 6. Next in a year plus. Technical background: (whole berry ferments with 20% whole bunches. Aged in 25% new puncheons and Barriques). Ended up having the 2nd bottle 195 weeks later on 25th October 2024. Just a stunning Pinot Noir and even improving on that 2 Trophies standard. — 5 years ago
I think Denis Berthaut's impact on Fixin is invaluable. He showed how an often overlooked terrior can produce truly elegant and transparent wines. This mantra and his mantle has been passed down to his very capable daughter, Amelie, and it's been up, up, up ever since. I'm a big fan of Amelie's wines!
2013 is Amelie's first vintage and her changes are clear - more oak, stems, and supposedly warmer ferments resulted in deeper, more complex wines. And it's constantly changing as she finds her stride. This is especially obvious in this cuvee.
The 13' Les Arvelets is a little richer than their newer iterations, which is reasonable given the difficult vintage - it was a late harvest due to the rain. Darker fruit, but crystal clear. The palate's really crunchy, pure fruit, herbal elements... think cincau... deep minerality, fine fine texture, lovely acidity. In a way like Serena Williams... There's a strong nearly brutal element, yet undeniably feminine (cliché I know but oh so true) and elegant. I do prefer more recent vintages of this vineyard, but this was excellent... Such a balanced wine!
I said it before and I'll say it again... Amelie's the next big thing, if not already one. The viti is more thoughtful than ever... Winemaking so detailed and smart. The sheer potential here... Especially with her mother's Gevry, Chambolle, and Vosne vineyards now under her sleeves... And her incredibly talented fiancé, Nicolas Faure, managing the domaine's vineyeards 🔝🔝🔝 — 7 years ago
Top! — 8 years ago
Gorgeous Droin GC with sea shells, salinity and lemon aromas and tastes, fresh, crisp, yet elegant and classy, nice balance with a medium length finish but a very nice bottle. — 4 years ago

Color : White
Wine estate : Louis Bovard
Designation : Saint-Saphorin
Name : Salix Chenin Blanc
Country : Switzerland
Vivino : 4.5/5
Note : The Salix from Bovard is beautiful! A light yellow silky robe and a nose of citrus fruits, pears and apples accompanied by a slight mineral touch. On the palate, Salix is gourmet, tasty, long and refreshes us. A taste as an aperitif, eating or even alone, it will always make you happy.

— 8 years ago
Really well balanced and fun to pick apart. Also fun to drink. — 9 years ago
Love it when my shipment from them arrives !! — 4 years ago
Very Droin in style, crisp and tight, fresh and mineral, with just enough density to make it a very good 1st growth, drinks like a charm.

I always enjoy D&R wines for their tasty, quaffable nature. Great weekday easy drinkers. Where I’m let down is in their homogeneity. Each bottle seems like same wine repeated with little varietal character. Maybe it’s the concrete ferments and/or carbonic maceration. — 7 years ago
Nose rich plum. Lush mouthfeel, with bright acidity and full of fruit. Lovely balance

I had the opportunity to visit this small boutique winery today and I have to say, I am looking forward to what the future holds for them! Andrew is in the process of getting his estate biodynamic certified and he throws his own amphora pots to ferment his wines as he ferments and ages more and more in this non-traditional yet traditional method. This sort of intentionality is reflected in this rosè, as he reserves a section of his vineyard specifically for this bottling. Traditional Pinot funk, fresh peppercorn, picked watermelon and June strawberries recall a Provence-style rosè. Bright yet generous upon the entry, with fresh strawberries and cut blood orange greeting the palate, unfolding to early-season mango and ripe, orange pith, and finishing with Bing cherries, dried river stones, and acid for days. Balanced and thoughtful - just a rosè, but speaks well for the future of this winemaker. I look forward to seeing more from him! — 8 years ago

Very classy and elegant wine with a backward acidity but enough to support the whole thing, very pure and clean, precise. Better on day two. — 4 years ago
