2012 tasted in 12/2018. Deep garnet, medium to full bodied. Wonderful perfume of black cherries, floral notes, and wet stone. Opens up substantially in the glass. Decanting will coax out an enchanting bouquet. Palate characterized by not overly ripe red to black fruit character with great acid structure, tannins still young at this time. A well crafted wine such as this can handle some time in the cellar. An ABV of 14.5% would suggest a bolder, riper red but the depth, complexity, and balance of this wine is unrivaled among East Coast reds with the notable exception of similar blends from Linden. Very lovely with an old world style. — 7 years ago

Really tasty! No aftertaste — 8 years ago
Had to source from Biodivino in San Fran and had shipped to the east coast. Nose is much like the air Chianti. Like the Baron, this wine has absolutely no rough edges. Pretty, almost Pinot like. Had with bucatini with black pepper and lardons. This would feel equally at home with fish. Really impressed. Next time we are in Radda we are tracking this guy down — 9 years ago

After decanting initial notes of honeycomb. A good combination of root vegetable notes and savoury red fruits. Great palate intensity without weight. An excellent example of a 10 year old Tasmanian Pinot. Freycinet is on the East Coast of Tasmania and their Pinot Noir is a regular purchase for me. Capable of ageing for 15 years plus. — 7 years ago
Stone IPA is a classic West Coast IPA from San Diego the Mecca of many great beers. This bold, hop forward IPA will never be mistaken for a more refined East Coaster. With its absolutely tantalizing hop bitterness, piney tones and vibrancy this is a big bold awesome IPA. If you like IPAs like I do add this to your list. Touring the many wonderful San Diego breweries is on my bucket list. @Bill Bender Bill this one is for you Cheers 🍻 — 7 years ago

Flavours of tropical fruit and gooseberry with a herbal edge. Vibrant full bodied palate. Fresh money acidity gives a refreshing finish. — 8 years ago
Refined tannins, elegant structure, reminiscent of Santa Cruz mountains, very nice. Best Bordeaux blend we've had in Tassy. — 9 years ago
This 'un's called the King of the East Coast IPAs. Lots of malt balanced against the hops. Quite delicious. — 6 years ago

From the first certified Biodynamic winery in New Zealand comes this estate single vineyard Chenin Blanc. Bright acidity balanced nicely by subtle sweetness and very faint saltiness. Textured, almost waxy. Good tension on the finish.
This single vineyard Chenin Blanc is one of the “1001 wines to try before you die” published by Penguin 2008. I don’t know about that, but this 2016 vintage is certainly a beauty. Gisborne is located in the east coast of the North Island very close to the Pacific. — 7 years ago

Medium crimson in colour. Notes of savoury oak - a trifle overdone but not unpleasant. A blend of fruit from several of Tassies Pinot regions including Derwent River, Coal River and the East Coast. A well blended Pinot showing why Tasmania is the go to area for Aussie winemakers to grow Pinot Noir. — 8 years ago

Deep Crimson in colour. Closed to begin with as a result of the Wine Fridge set a little cold. Aromas of currant, blackberry, roast meats, tar and liquorice. As the wine warmed up a hint of violets came through. None of the ashtray notes I have had with previous Spanish Monastrels. Palate is ripe, full bodied and obviously from a warm climate. From near Alicante on the east coast of Spain and therefore very Mediterranean. Ultra savoury with robust tannins. Aged in 500 litres Oak Barrels so the Oak is not overdone. Overall a fairly masculine wine and not particularly liked by my better half! Tasted 2nd and last bottle 107 weeks later on 18th April 2019. Ultra savoury / so much so that the fruit is masked. Aromas of tar and violet with a certain rusticity. Medium to full bodied with fine grainy tannins. — 9 years ago
