An alternative yet delicious take on Cabernet from a cooler region of California. The fruit is pure and dynamic, with high toned black berry and red plum notes. The wine lacks the tannins of it's Napa contemporaries but it makes up for that with much better acidity, price and elegance. Just a special experience. The nose was powerful and dynamic evolving beautifully over 30 minutes. A smokey phase, a pine phase, and a strong floral phase. The palate was balanced and smooth. Very dynamic. Smelled of fresh raspberries upon opening, 45 min. Of decanting brought on an overly ripe fruit forward aroma with good acidity, but not a fruit bomb like most Napa cabs.
