Notes of candied apricots, caramelized peaches and honeysuckle — 9 years ago
Very well aged. Still very lively. Grenache flexing its muscle here. — 10 years ago
2010. Somewhat muted aromatics. Great depth and weight, lovely fruit, very pure and silky, good persistent length. — 11 years ago
Just delicious. Fresh with tons of strawberry. Silky with a sweet red fruit core. Beautiful wine. — 11 years ago

Very very tasty digestif — 13 years ago
Trademark sour cherry, lingonberry aromas. Still not perfect, but enjoyable with a dp vial Bolognese pasta sauce. Before you know it the bottle is empty... — 8 years ago
Love everything about this label. On my last bottle and my wine shop can't source any more 😭. Welcome all leads and recommendations for comparables! — 9 years ago
This one was ridiculous! Simply outstanding with our homemade steak tartare, frisée salad and truffle frites! Very ripe aromas of musky red berries and showing a apparent earth tones. Superb intensity, energy and breadth. Great tannins for a long finish. Get some if you can! — 10 years ago

Ripe pear, honeysuckle, steel, and lime. Balanced with a nice weight and charming aromatics. — 11 years ago
2000 Michel Lafarge Volnay 'Les Caillerets' : Nails. Every time. Elegant and pure with incredibly fresh, beautiful dark fruit and earth notes that dance. 👊 — 11 years ago
One of the best values in the Côte d'Or these days... — 13 years ago
Very, very good. But not up to the heights of the prior visit. — 8 years ago
When we open from 1987, we expect everything. One thinks of its conservation in cellar, the risk that it is passed or incredible, with the tannins having evolved in this vial ... The cork pulled-out, in perfect state and one knows in advance that one hit the jackpot and that it will be phenomenal. A coppery robe, a complex nose with aromas of black and floral fruits. In the mouth, an explosion of flavors that take the length and makes us go back in time. A very large estate for an incredible wine, to fall 😍🍷 — 8 years ago
Michael Larfage's monopole vineyard Clos Du Chateau Des Ducs 2013. The second bottle of my 6-pack burgundy tasting. Compared with D'Angerville, darker ruby color, more raspberry on the nose, concentrated considerably heavier body, no hint of new oak influence, same bright acidity and firmer tannin. Will require more time to soften the tannin and develop further nuances. — 9 years ago
Drinking not too bad young with a touch of vegetal green up front in contrast to dark , toasted spice. Intriguing fruit. Would probably have let this sit 3-5 years but travelers can't be choosers. 2011 vintage. — 10 years ago
Cigar, cedar bark, smoke, black pepper, cooked raspberry. — 11 years ago
Not a perfect label re-creation but a near perfect wine. Impeccable balance, opulence, decadence, ridiculous tasty-ness, game meats gone wild and a vial of black tar heroin mixed with a bacon fat berry sandwich and a quick dash of white pepper.....minus the black tar heroin. — 11 years ago

2011 nice one, always happy to have it — 11 years ago
Servire gelido!!! — 12 years ago
Still lots of life. Thanks for sharing Christophe Vial and we'll miss you Oliver! — 13 years ago
Fun fact: Lewis Carroll drank this very wine when he had Alice find a vial labeled "Drink Me." — 13 years ago

I had to carefully decant this, as it had a lot of that light, floaty sediment that starts zooming around if you even look at the bottle the wrong way. It’s got a light color, and loads of tangy cherry/ berry fruit, accented by a musky floral note and some stony minerality. In the mouth, it’s quite fluid and gulpable. Bone dry, but with nice pure fruit and lingering minerality. Deceptively complex. — 8 years ago
