2017 enjoyed 10/7/2023. nose: caramelized pineapple, wavering between oxidative and candied. wiffs of fresh floral pass quickly, stony/mineral undertone. palate: medium body, oily viscosity, high acid and mineral leave my tongue tingling. gorgeous. glad that I opened. — 8 months ago
This is a simple but very tasty, sparkling wine from France.
Showing citrus, lemons, apples, pears, light tropical fruits, honey and light minerals.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity. Refreshing with small bubbles.
Dry to off dry on the palate and fruit forward.
Nicely balanced and easy drinking.
Good by itself and a good Sunday sparkle.
11.5% alcohol by volume.

So I guess this is a Gamay from the Rhône? Didn’t know such a thing existed but this is the best “Rhône” I’ve had in a long time - mostly bc it’s a Beaujolais through and through - classic muddy/cloudy consistency, intense fruit on the nose. Only issue is that it’s still very sparkly on the palate, so definitely needs a few more years. Or a very long decant. Tons of potential — 5 months ago
Tightly wound nose, lots of beeswax, white florals and some stone fruit, rounded by oak. Palate in unfortunately alcohol-first (I guessed 14.5 but it’s 15!) but layers of texture. Good bit hot, more pedigree than magic — 6 months ago
2009 vintage drunk in 2023. Delicious. But where did I get it? — 10 months ago
