Opened my last bottle in hopes my previous rating was incorrect. NOPE! The “low intervention, high surveillance” winemaking approach performed by Dutraive is not happening for this vintage: bacterial, high volatile acidity, and tart finish makes this quite wine unpleasant.

Light ruby color. Garnet secondary hues. Hazy. Fresh bing cherries and strawberries on the nose alongside ripe watermelon, bubblegum, ginger, and delicate lily and lilac notes. A bouquet of sweet aromas in the nose. Medium acidity on the palate. Nice structure. Very light body. 2017 vintage. 12.5% ABV. Gamay. #fleurie #crudubeaujolais #domainedelagrandcour #carbonicmaceration #gamay #gamayzing

Highly regarded producer. So, I’ll chalk this up as a tough vintage. Not compelling in fragrance, flavor or finish. A sparse wine.

Incredible. One of the best wines I’ve drank this year. Seamlessly paired throughout the duration of an entire meal that involved raw crudo, heavily spiced beef tartar, roasted duck breast with morels, and lobster lasagna. Perfect food wine, but also complex, aromatic, and textured. High price point even for cru Beaujolais, but considering the fact that a hail storm wiped out most of this producers lot for the year and the overall depth of the wine, worth every penny. Buy a case...assuming you can find some.

Slightly effervescent. Natural unfiltered taste. Light with slight strawberry. Very delicate. Chill a bit first.

Needs to open about 15 mins to open. Slight tannin off the top for a Fleurie. Great fresh cranberry, stone fruit finish
