Premier Cru Fourchame
Absolutely marvellous wine
Everything in place.
Mouthfilling with freshness, mineral and lenght.
When a wine gets closer to perfection it is harder to describe it.
My Australian friends will excuse me, but the French still set the standards.
Perhaps if i was drinking more French wines lately i would not get this excited, but this Fourchame reflects very much the vineyard style.
A relatively broad Chablis but very very tasty..and long!! — 2 years ago
This is red (Pinot Noir)
Dark ruby. Initially shy nose and medium palate of bitter black cherry, violets, and strong black tea. Medium plus acidity and mildly assertive medium tannins he make it all stand up to almost any dish or cuisine you can throw at it. Excellent example of a "next step" Burgundy for the newly initiated, or an everyday for the seasoned Burgundian. Drink now through 2031. — 3 years ago
Nice Ruby color with an array of fruit, floral and spice aromas. On the palate cherry, currant and raspberry flavors with some fresh cinnamon and smoky oak notes. Vibrant acidity, elegant fine tannins, well balanced just starting to wake up, long finish ending with slight earthy mineral notes, plenty of depth, will continue to develop. Nice! — 4 years ago
Fun wine, went very well — 4 years ago
Delicious blend of Syrah, Carignan and Grenache, combined with more finesse and elegance than most SW Reds. Subtle use of oak, nice soft acidity and great length - will buy again! — 7 years ago
Medium Ruby red color with aromas of red fruits, floral and spice notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and plum with notes of cacao and pepper spice. Fine tannins, medium+ savory finish, ending with fruit, floral spice and slight earthy notes. Nice! Will age well! — a year ago
Very good body and nice tannins without unwanted acidity. Great wine for the price. — 2 years ago

Very lemony nose. Lemon custard. Nice smooth finish for a Sauvignon Blanc. Enjoyed at Robert et Fils alongside octopus. — 4 years ago
— 5 years ago

Lovely wine, although not as refined as the Cab Sauv. Improved markedly a day after opening. Great value. — 2 years ago

Actually Mourvedre 100%
I was recommended to try this over the Grenache that is also very good i was told but this wine had a smoother tannin and potentially i could served it chilled too.
..well, i didn't drink it chilled, but i see what my friend meant..i am learning to appreciate chilled reds up here, i realise that you cannot have big reds when it is particularly warm weather and i must admit it makes sense.
The wine is delicious btw
On the nose it has a floral violet scent that i deeply loved. It has a good crunchy fruit that varied from sour cherry to fuji apple to pomegranate. A lovely mineral character too.
Palate is crunchy, vibrant and smooth.
It is hard to detect the tannin which in a mourvedre is rare.
I guess it has been tamed pretty well.
However this is not a thin wine, it has its structure and a long finish.
Only 2650 bottles produced.
I had Edouard Maurisset with me on the road representing the Delaunay wines from Burgundy and he is business partner with Michael and Claire who are more local to McLaren Vale.
It is a great project.
We visited one of my customer and literally bumped in their wines.
That's how i met this wine.
Great discover. — a year ago
