Give it 20-30mins to open up and try to keep the temp cool. Keeps the fruit and flavors very concentrated. Has that little smokiness/toasty that we fell in love with Charlopin wines for backed up by dark cherries. — 7 years ago

Dark fruited built on an acidic framework with firm but fine tannins. Interesting reductive ( in a good way) for a house that is reputed to use little sulfur. Still a very robust wine. Not in the least past its prime. There’s a lot of fruit left, but there’s also a lot of oak., even after 26 years. This has dried out the wine a little bit. Don’t make too much out of my criticism. The wine is very enjoyable, so the bottle was finished without any complaints from my friends at the table.
