Powerful flavors in a weightless wine. How is that possible? A minty eucalyptus aroma with secondary flavors. — 8 years ago
Encore un peu jeune. Mais on sent la côte de Nuit. — 8 years ago
Lovely! Complex and bright with the terroir coming through more with every taste. I loved this wine and found it to be an incredible value for the price point! — 5 years ago
Dark fruited built on an acidic framework with firm but fine tannins. Interesting reductive ( in a good way) for a house that is reputed to use little sulfur. But this 1er has chops for sure (my first experience with Bel-Air), which immediately confirms that its neighbors are all quite “grand”! — 6 years ago
Very old school. Great stuff. — 6 years ago
Dark and rich. Spice and cola. Has a solid acid backbone. — 7 years ago

Soft and approachable. A bit of butterscotch on the nose. Beautiful looking but lacks some of the pure fruit I'd hope for. Good, but not profound. — 9 years ago
Still a very robust wine. Not in the least past its prime. There’s a lot of fruit left, but there’s also a lot of oak., even after 26 years. This has dried out the wine a little bit. Don’t make too much out of my criticism. The wine is very enjoyable, so the bottle was finished without any complaints from my friends at the table.

Light ruby. Light bodied. Smooth and savory. Mineral finish. Better day 2. — 6 years ago
This bottle appropriating @Carla Hine and I’m ashamed. — 6 years ago
Like candy.... going to buy as much of this as I can find. Definitely benefited from the company of my beautiful wife, but killer stuff all around. — 7 years ago
Nothing here to light my fire. Not the kind of bottle you want eating out in Beaune — 8 years ago
Bone dry. Wonderful nose. Flavors of peach and gooseberries. — 8 years ago
Great nose. Open for a young bottle. And yet another Charlopin wine into my notes. Always seen the name, never had a taste. Thanks Weygandt. — 9 years ago
Antonio Gianola
Dense raspberry underbrush, smokey black cherry bouquet. Seems tight but rather juicy and ready to go on the palate. Mildly abrupt, tart and unripe cranberry finish that opens and lengths nicely with air. Lovely bottle. Worth seeking out — 5 years ago
