Robert Michel he is something of an institution when it comes to Cornas and its wines. Actually 2006 it's been his last vintage before retirement, even though he has continued to help and give advice to the young and gifted winemaker Guillaume Gilles. Cuvée des Coteaux here it comes from two parcels: Les Chaillots and Le Quartier de Renard. Michel used to make severe, uncompromised, traditionally austere and long-lived wines. Manual harvest, gentle fermentation with the entire stems, wine ageing in larger sized demi-muid cask. A pity that such a majestic vigneron doesn't make such one-shot wines any more. Though, what a patriarchal wine here we've got: power and delicacy at the same time in this 2006; purity, unsophisticated class is all I love in those kind of wines. Well, what else? Dionysus bless Michel and his solemn beverage in time and in eternity. — 10 years ago
God bless TAIWAN after a 6.4 earthquake... till now still shocked. By the way, the bottle with strong berries and a smooth smokey fragrances was good to share. — 10 years ago

Since I’m originally a European, for some unknown reason, I always romanticized about the Kennedy dynasty. With the superb CNN series and this Time reprint, I better understand his role in shaping US and world history. The world needs more people like JFK and Bobby - god bless this United States of America 🇺🇸 — 8 years ago

Oh wait, you said kennedy, my badActually the estate Merlot reserve '04. Of course there'll never be any more if this. If you never visited the winery or net Tom, you'll never understand how satisfying it is to drink this truly great bottle. Beautiful medium garnet heading toward tawny. Fresh blueberry, black pepper, cinnamon, smoke and vanilla mix with a little tar and a loamy, clay quality. Like some lost right bank appellation, one of the best wines I've ever had. I'll never have it again. God bless America. — 10 years ago

Not really sure how these guys keep pounding out amazing wines but bless them. This is a superb glass and I am sure the man that it honors was a superb man. Cherry and tobacco and luscious fruit were some of the highlights that beckons to have more. I had to fight very hard not to open more this night. — 8 years ago
Ok so there was that one time on the 4th of July when my neighbor said "I know you're in to wine and I just visited my Dad this weekend and grabbed some bottles from his cellar to share with you" .....had a bottle last summer in SF and it is still mind blowing and 100% open for business despite it's youth. God bless America and young women who raid cellars. I'm in love 😍......with her Dad!! — 10 years ago

Might have been the last bottle of this Claret on the Earth. My last survivor from 1st wine club ever. God bless the Goldman family. 65% Cab, 5% Cab Franc, and 30% Merlot. Stephen knew how to mix up a great blend — 7 years ago
