Excellent with dessert — or just about anything — 18 days ago
Salty apricot, lemon, blood orange, apricot cream. No Malo. — a month ago
Distinctly savory, the NV Brut Trentodoc opens with a blend of dusty dried flowers, cardamom and freshly sliced pears. It fills the palate with a silken bead of fine bubbles, taking on a salty-to-sweet sensation as tactile mineral tones mix with ripe orchard fruits. This finishes with admirable length and candied citrus twang, tapering off remarkably fresh. I love the balance and complexity here, especially for a Non-vintage Brut. Disgorged: 2023. Popped and poured. The 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo “Maggiur” pours a pale garnet color with a watery rim and a transparent core. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with moderate intensity redolent of tart red fruits: raspberries, strawberry, cranberry, pomegranate, dried roses, dried herbs (but not enough for you to go to Sangiovese), sandstone minerals. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Full bodied. Alcohol is medium. Confirming the notes on the nose. Finish is medium+. An elegant, pretty expression of Nebbiolo. Really lovely. Drink now with some patience but this should drink well through 2028. — 5 months ago
