Vigna Botti Langhe DOC Nebbiolo 2021

Pickup from my local wine shop. Another win for langhe Nebbiolo for 2021. This one is quite classic. Lighter in the glass, great fruit, balanced acid, nice dried flower and earth. Good value. — 4 months ago

Brut Trento DOC Chardonnay

Delectable Wine
9.1

Distinctly savory, the NV Brut Trentodoc opens with a blend of dusty dried flowers, cardamom and freshly sliced pears. It fills the palate with a silken bead of fine bubbles, taking on a salty-to-sweet sensation as tactile mineral tones mix with ripe orchard fruits. This finishes with admirable length and candied citrus twang, tapering off remarkably fresh. I love the balance and complexity here, especially for a Non-vintage Brut. Disgorged: 2023. I Custodi

Atneus Etna DOC Nerello Blend 2015

The flagship old vines bottling of this estate, it livened up an otherwise rather dull corporate holiday dinner. No detailed notes as I’m catching up on old posts but it was absolutely stunning, notably earth and mineral driven. — 4 months ago

Cascina Luisin

Maggiur Langhe DOC Nebbiolo 2018

Popped and poured. The 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo “Maggiur” pours a pale garnet color with a watery rim and a transparent core. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with moderate intensity redolent of tart red fruits: raspberries, strawberry, cranberry, pomegranate, dried roses, dried herbs (but not enough for you to go to Sangiovese), sandstone minerals. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Full bodied. Alcohol is medium. Confirming the notes on the nose. Finish is medium+. An elegant, pretty expression of Nebbiolo. Really lovely. Drink now with some patience but this should drink well through 2028. — 5 months ago
