Bright lemon color, aromas of stone, citrus and tropical fruit with violet scents. On the palate flavors of pear, apples and pineapple with lemon citrus and chalky notes. Well balanced with pleasant lively acidity, long finish ending with fruit, mineral, citrus, floral and wet stone nuances. Very nice! — a month ago

This was all part of our Sake Day 2025 experience. We only tasted 60ish sakes out of an estimated 450, so a small fraction of what was available. While I attempted to rinse the glass with water and stay hydrated it’s difficult to fairly rate in this environment and I use it solely as a time to try a wide variety and interact with the brands. Sol Rei Wine Syrah 2023, Sierra Foothills, California
Reddish in color with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with mild complexity.
Showing red fruits with light wood, spices, coffee, dark chocolates and earth.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and raspberries.
This is a nice and easy drinking Syrah from Sierra foothills. Nicely balanced and elegant. Soft and smooth.
Still young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years. Has good potential to become 91+ point wine.
Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food.
Syrah grapes were aged for 17 months in neutral American oak barrels.
14.3% alcohol by volume.
