Recently had ‘16. Royal St. Robert Cuvee named in honor of Dante and Carlo Mondavi's grandfather who taught them to be committed to excellence. Medium Ruby with layered aromas of fresh berry fruits with floral and smoky spice notes. On the palate flavors of strawberry and raspberry with cigar box, oak and herb floral notes. Well balanced, savory fine tannins, long finish ending with oaky earthy notes. Very nice! Has ample room to age. Nice! — 6 years ago

VJB has great #sonomavalley reds. This #cabernetsauvignon starts out tight with oaky vanilla, upon opening up there’s blackberry preserves, leather. Great concentration on the palate, enough acidity for balance and velvety tannins. — 6 years ago

Had another bottle, Wow! Laura Catena, 4th gen winemaker, grew up in Argentine-Italian winemaking family in Mendoza. Wines, named after her children - Luca, Dante & Nicola - background of the label is the McDermott coat of arms of her American husband, Daniel McDermott. Single-vineyard wine from land belonging to the Laborde family. Deep red with big ripe fruits & smoky oak. Palate plum & jammy blackberry, spice with nice earthy character. Tannins are a bit rustic, lingering ending with toasty oak & spice. — 7 years ago
