Founded in 1998 on an historic site in the Santa Cruz Mountains next to Big Basin Redwoods State Park. Powerful aromas of red fruit and complex spices, however the palate is light and smooth with flavors of strawberry, pepper spice and mint. Lingering finish, soft tannins ending with a mineral edge. Very nice! — 9 years ago
In perfect shape... 2007 release! Smooth, silky and pure awesomeness. All is so well integrated. Best Big Basin ever tasted. I hope I would have some more. — 10 years ago
Incredibly zesty and crystal like for a wine so southern in Burgundy ! It reminds me of Chablis in terms of style for the body and citrus notes and Macon for the slight toasty flavour and roundness in mouth. Delicious and refreshing. — 11 years ago
Stunning quality. Balance of fruit, spice, and barrel. Toasty long finish. — 12 years ago
Clear, light lemon yellow
Clean, medium intense notes of white floral, stones, clay, lemon, beeswax. Soft and pretty nose.
Dry, medium acid body and alcohol (13.2% ABV). Flavors of lemon, mild apricot, mineral. Finish is a medium+
Very good, and would love to revisit this vintage in the future. Brie & apricot pizza.
Would be interested to see a Roussanne+Marsanne collaboration with Donkey & Goat (Skin Fermented Marsanne)
NOTES: “Most of the wine was fermented and aged in a clay Amphorae with the remainder in barrel.” — 8 years ago

Remarkable 2014 Pinot Noir from Big Basin Vineyards. They've made a stream of my favorite wines of the year and this may top it all - so far. Spicy and funky and will get better with age. Winery of the year!? — 10 years ago
Cherry, Cocoa, plum, and light lavender. Really tasty! — 11 years ago
Tart cherry and tobacco on the nose; on the palate black cherry, cola, leather, white pepper, and cedar. Really well done! 2012 Vintage — 11 years ago

My first meeting with the Maestro del Veneto. Crystal clear expressive field blend of aromatic orchard fruits and white flowers. No bulges whatsoever.
Sublime weighty texture. Bitter almond, yellow apple, and sweet grapefruit. Beauty in balance. — 7 years ago
