Very nice almost Burgundian style Pinot — 6 years ago
Amazing pairing! Chicago style pizza and Saratoga Syrah. Deep purple color. Aromas of smoked meat, boysenberry and blackberry. Haunting blackberry, boysenberry, huckleberry and limestone finish.
5% Viognier to this big boy.

New wine for us. A differentiable sav blanc. Pretty yummy. — 8 years ago
Remarkable 2014 Pinot Noir from Big Basin Vineyards. They've made a stream of my favorite wines of the year and this may top it all - so far. Spicy and funky and will get better with age. Winery of the year!? — 9 years ago
Rich juice squeezed from the Royal Slope in Columbia Basin. A sweet edge upfront turned into an earthy, mineral plethora of flavors with very soft tannins fully integrated. Pleasant finish. I had to score it high because it vanished pretty much by it selves. Nice start to the Easter weekend that concluded a week with a kick in the rear from my second Covid shot that took a few days to shake off. — 5 years ago

Im liking this wine more and more, great first Carignane release! Great fruit, lovely dark notes of gnarly old vine. More please!

Mid Gold in colour - crystal clear. Kerosene/mineral notes with some chalky aromas. Pristine citrusy flavours coming into the stone fruit spectrum. Medium minus acid but medium plus intensity. (12.5% ABV). A well made Eden Valley Riesling drinking at its peak. — 6 years ago
This bottle of 2015 Gabilan Mountains GSM is a fantastic California Rhône blend from Monterey County. Medium plus bodied with aromas of plumb and black cherry. Definitely will buy it again! Cheers! Salud! — 5 years ago
Beautiful Rhône style blend. Medium purple color. Aromas of cherry, blackberry, smoke and dried herbs. Mulberry, floral with red fruit flavors on the palate. Paired nicely wit homemade Detroit style pizza.

On Crystal Serenity cruising the Mediterranean. In Livorno tonight. Had 1/2 the bottle last night, the balance tonight. Always a dependable wine. — 6 years ago
2Y since previous taste and it has evolved nicely. Beauty to drink now! — 7 years ago
Good dark red; not crystal-clear. Very ripe, musky, multidimensional nose combines blackberry, raspberry, violet, earth, game, black pepper and herbs, plus a positive vegetal nuance. Plush, silky and very ripe but not particularly sweet, with concentrated dark fruit, spice and pepper flavors complicated by a hint of prune. ("More fruit ripeness than the '15," noted Aubert de Villaine just moments after we had tasted the '15 La Tâche) Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and a note of licorice. Not particularly high in acidity but this extremely complex wine is still just short of its peak drinking window. (Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, March 2018) — 8 years ago

Faint hint of brett, rustic but still fruity, pizza friendly GSM, with nice tannin once a bit aerated. Quite enjoyable. — 5 years ago
