So fresh and perfectly mature. Not at all overripe. Great wine I'll probably never have again. At La Rotisserie de La Tour d'Argent. — 9 years ago
It's not Clos Rougeard, but it was damn good! — 10 years ago
Great in a way completely different from the Rougeard. Much brighter fruit, lots of lanolin, some oxidized Apple. Excellent expression. — 10 years ago
Yes, Clos Rougeard is better, but this is a quarter of the price. Animated red fruits swirl around a dense core of blacker fruits. Red and purple flower perfume abounds. Just enough brett to feel rustic and handmade, and what greenness it has is a pleasant herbal counterpoint to the intensity of the fruit. Ashy-gravel notes abound on the inorganic side. Drink now or hold for 15+. One of the great cabernet franc producers. — 10 years ago
Like the Rougeard of the northern rhone for me. Who knew cornas could make beautiful women like this? Hell yes please more please — 9 years ago
If you want to taste a cracking good Saumur that speaks the region and the varietal without paying the bullshit prices of Rougeard or Guiberteau - buy a whole case, instead of a bottle or two of those others - drink and enjoy with friends - instead of fondling them like a perv! Thanks Daniel J for finding this and brining sanity to this great region. 2011 vintage. — 10 years ago
Very expressive and well knit Franc - lovely middle fruit and persistent length! Blew the rougeard off the table! — 10 years ago
