Domaine Bernard Baudry
Les Grézeaux Chinon Cabernet Franc

A little disjointed. Not up to the level of previous bottles.

I should have bought more. Funk, fruit and stones, beautifully integrated.

Yes, Clos Rougeard is better, but this is a quarter of the price. Animated red fruits swirl around a dense core of blacker fruits. Red and purple flower perfume abounds. Just enough brett to feel rustic and handmade, and what greenness it has is a pleasant herbal counterpoint to the intensity of the fruit. Ashy-gravel notes abound on the inorganic side. Drink now or hold for 15+. One of the great cabernet franc producers.

Day one: tight as. DAY FIVE: beautifully expressive, dense without weight, broad tannins, baking spice, tar, just ever so slightly oxidized.
