Approachable now with red fruit aromas, cranberry, cherry; modest structure and acidity. Clean medium long finish. Good quality and drinks above its level. — 5 years ago
Top ! — 5 years ago

Perplexing but tastes great. — 9 years ago
Beautiful deep color, very spicey black cherry nose , palate is well balanced with oak, fruit and acidity. This rich wine is showing well and no sign of fading at 18 years of age . Purchased on release and cellared at 52" — 9 years ago

Decanted this for an hour and a half and reserved a glass in the bottle for the second day. These notes are based on the second day, as the flavors seemed to shine through a bit more. On the nose, aromas of blackberry and leather, although had to do quite a bit of swirling to get the aromas to come through. On the palate, beautifully deep flavors of blackberry and black currant coming through, with hints of graphite and cocoa in the background. Tannins seems pretty well integrated with good acidity, although definitely some grip on the finish. Cocoa seems to come through a bit more on the finish as well. Overall really tasty, but seems to be closing down a bit for sure. I have one more bottle, so looking forward to seeing how this tastes in 5-10 years time. — 9 months ago
The 2019 Sancerre Les Chasseignes has a ripe and open expression. It fills the mouth with a sense of effortlessness, which Stephane Riffault puts down to both the caillottes soil and the ripeness of the vintage. It is in the riper spectrum of Sauvignon aromatics. This wine leaves the variety's green flavors far behind and focuses instead on orchard fruit and almost heads into the realms of tropical fruit, which isn't something you normally associate with Sancerre. Gently refreshing with the caillottes providing a line of chalkiness on the finish. One for the short to medium term due to the vintage's ripe profile. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2021)

Very drinkable now. This wine should please the American taste as a fruit forward and pleasant but excellent for the price. A great affordable wine to order while dinning out. — 9 years ago

Nice balance of acidity and fruit for a 16 year old wine. 2010. In fact it’s pretty fantastic. A bit of stewed apricots d hints of green apple. The tertiary elements are charming as heck. Go team! — a year ago

Pale lemon color, with aromas of citrus, stone fruits and herbs. On the palate flavors of pineapple, peach and citrus with floral notes and slight spice. Medium+ finish, vivid acidity ending with lemon citrus, herb and stony mineral spice. — 8 months ago
