Deep medium gold. Heavy weight. Killer nose. Notes of apricot, gravel stone, orange, tan spice, some ginger and a little toffee. Some mint appears as the wine gets more air. Rich and fat in the mouth. Sneaky acidity. Great length. Loved this tonight. — 6 years ago

I don't know what else you could want in a wine. To think that this is the same grape that makes such a broad spectrum of quality elsewhere is unbelievable. — 12 years ago
Wow! This was absolutely delicious!! More so than the Montrachet. — 12 years ago

Good condition given the age, enough body weight. — 5 years ago
Pale in color; slightly waxy, lime rind, white flower. Excellent vibrant acid balance with a layered texture and full body. A delicate almond note on long finish suggests drink up but this was in great shape overall. Dancer has a wonderful touch with CH.

Elegant. Relatively transparent garnet w/ yellow rim. mid- intensity of cola, mint, red berries. Dry, low acidity which was dissolved in 12 yrs. tannin... attack: velvety but mid-palate: still lively. Already past it’s peak but still beautiful. — 9 years ago
Very great wine, wood already integrated, good Valence in mouth, need sole year in cellar — 10 years ago
Lovely stuff. Wedged between a chevalier demoiselles and a Corton Charlemagne I was concerned, and this shows very differently but very well. Light, bright, zesty and delicious with a whiff of rock pool, grapefruit and a fresh clarity. Doesn't have the length or intensity of the grand cru's, but has great individuality and held its own. Excellent. — 10 years ago

Pierbone is the second wine of Cru Bourgeois Château Peyrabon, property of Patrick Bernard (also owner of Bordeaux négociant Millésima and cousin of Olivier Bernard who owns Domaine de Chevalier). While it doesn't have the depth and structure of the grand vin, it shows how well some of these second wines can age in great vintages like 2010. Drinking beautifully at 10 years old it has a slightly jammy Amarena cherries nose, intertwined with hints of cocoa and cedar wood. In the mouth the jamminess of the cherry fruit is well-balanced by the acidity and the ripe tannin. Not particularly complex, but a delight to drink now and well worth the 18 euros for a mature Haut-Médoc. Abv. 13,5%. — 6 years ago
Rocking Roussanne. The freshness on the palate of these micro cuvee St. Perays is just unreal. They drink like nothing else in the Rhone. If Pur Blanc is the Montrachet of the lineup then this is the Chevalier as this is an awesome elegant Roussanne. Like Grand Cru level. Stunning nose. So complex, yellow fruits, pear, mineral, tree bark, earthy, quince but so refined and clear. Amazingly clear actually. Yellow plum. The palate is masterful. Concentrated yet so elegant with such texture and just awesome balance. This is next level Roussanne made in tiny batches. What finish. Fruit is plum, yellow peach, mango, papaya, but so fresh and not vulgar. All class. Just nuts. — 7 years ago
1.28.18 Grammys... holy cow is this good.
Cherry fruit leather with a touch of tobacco. Nose- Baked smashed black cherry pie. I could smell this all night and wow!!! — 8 years ago
Lighter for a grand cru with earthiness to start and light plum finish. — 10 years ago
Solid example of the GC but to be honest I've never really been impressed with Chartron, they tick a few boxes, but when it comes to a wine that moves you, this isn't the producer I would talk about, mediocrity is a harsh word, but it's what I've found so often, considering the price... — 10 years ago
2011 Francois Carillon Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru: from Jay. Fifth from the Left in Picture - Lovely rich golden color. Quite an attractive wine to observe although its color contradicts its youth. Very rich on the nose. There is great depth here. You're immediately aware that something special is resting in your glass. Roasted hazelnuts, acacia, quince and a touch of lemon zest present on the nose with hints of honeysuckle. On the palette this wine is lush with incredible concentration and depth. It envelopes the mouth completely with fabulous viscosity. The wine dominates the mid palette with a punch akin to Iron Mike Tyson at his prime. The finish is not as robust but it remains profound for a wine of this age with superb minerality all the way through. The wine is very well balanced although the oak has yet to fully integrate. With time this will be an exceptional wine and the acidity should afford it the ability to age wonderfully. This is a true wine lovers wine. Bravo! - tremendous effort. Drink 2017 onwards. 96+/100
