Outstanding Oregon Pinot Noir. Clear pale/medium ruby, nose of well worn earth, forest floor, charred wood, cloves, cherry cola, cough syrup with faint red fruit beneath it - especially cranberry. Light tannins with more earthiness and rich red cherries on the palate. Long finish. So good! — 6 years ago
Chappellet wine dinner. I've not had much of their wines and wanted to see if they are worth a visit when we are out for our yearly Napa trip in February!
The big boy 💪🏼. Deep ruby core in the glass that approaches black in color. Aromatics aren't massive, but it even smells refined. Black cherry, baking spices, powerful tannins. Lush fruits on the palate. Finish is very strong and lasts almost a minute. No doubt a wine that can go the distance. Easily go up 1-2 points in a few years. — 7 years ago

Very much like this Pinot. They managed to achieve a wine with a lot of flavors but not overextracted and complimented with decent backbone. — 5 years ago
Wow, what a wine! Best of 2018 for us so far. Pop and pour. Lovely garnet color. Gorgeous nose of dark cherry and plum, mocha, tobacco and graphite. At first there was an overt cinnamon and vanilla oak scent, too, but that dissipated within an hour. Palate was silky smooth and elegant and perfectly balanced. For a nearly 10 year old wine this was still lively, broad, and deep. Tannins had subsided a bit but provided great grip and balanced well with the remaining acidity. Classy wine and that really blew us away. Recommend an hour or two of decanting for this. — 6 years ago

On this Easter night we have opened the 2009 Philip Togni Tanbark Hill Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon which has gone over very well.
The nose is very expressive with rich luscious aromas of black cherry, blackberry, black currant, black pepper, licorice, pimento, mint and earth.
At first sip on the palate brings rich dark fruit of black cherry, blackberry, black currant then the green bell pepper comes through with black pepper, licorice and rich earth.
This is a full bodied wine with medium + acidity and medium + gripping tannins that coat the tongue which leads to a long beautiful finish. A well blended wine that is very pleasing and has many years ahead of it. I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. The new week is ahead so please be safe and make it an eventful one. Cherry Dr Pepper on the nose, moving to raspberry, white pepper on attack, shifting down to red plum on the mid and finish. Perfect balance of FTAA.
