Sans Pagne Pétillant Montlouis Chardonnay 2019

Slight sweetness. $23 @ Domestique. — 5 years ago

Marquis de Goulaine

La Loire Royale Vouvray Chenin Blanc 2019

Ripe pear, pleasing aromatics. Drinking by a spring fire outdoors. It went down easy, like I was thirsty , but it was just a nice wine, good company, Sunday evening. I would drink this again. — 5 years ago

Implicite Montlouis-sur-Loire Chenin Blanc 2015

Fresh peach, apple. Very malic and dense, nectar-like. Extreme juice. Transparent: ultra clean, still very complex. Attractive on the nose and impressive from even the first sip. Finished just a touch sweet, otherwise pretty damn flawless. — 7 years ago

Crimson Royale Concord 2017

Tiny bubbles dancing on my tongue for a sweet treat! Tastes like grapes...concord like when you drank Welch's Sparkling Grape Juice as a kid. Slight tart cherry keep it from being too sweet. It's really just right :) — 7 years ago

Marsannay Pinot Noir 2019

Got this in a collector club wine package. Hints of jam, spice and leather. I had this at dinner with a strip steak prepared with thyme, rosemary, garlic and compound butter. The pairing was perfect and the wine didn’t see the next day’s sunrise. — 4 years ago

Tarlant

La Vigne Royale Brut Blanc de Noirs Champagne Blend 2002

A review for Tarlant Millesime L'Etincelante. 2002. Mostly Pinot Noir with small % of Meunier and Chard. Lemon curd, and bread dough. Juicy yellow apple and slightly strawberry. Medium+ acidity, finish, and intensity. — 7 years ago

Domaine Chanson (Chanson Père et Fils)

Clos des Mouches Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2016

In the context of a long pinot lunch, this was one of my favourites. It’s still very young and primary, but it’s full of smooth, velvety weight. Plush. So full of potential. Opposite end of the scale to the Tapanappa Definitus, but delicious. — 7 years ago

Clos des Fèves Monopole Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Medium plus garnet/purple; dark red/black fruits on the nose w/a touch of earth. Very smooth, medium body, lots of flavor- plum, blackberry and oak. Even tannins and not too acidic. Very good! At least a 9.0 and maybe a 9.1. — 5 years ago

Les Caradeux Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Chardonnay 2017

We made 2 mistakes with this wine: drinking it too young and not giving it more time to air. A couple of hours decanting would have been ideal. The wine cannot be faulted for either of those! When it finally opened, a very nice treat indeed, after initial herbaceous impressions dissipated. Lovely wine really. — 5 years ago

Alto Colchagua Royale Carménère 2012

At 8 years this tasted young at first and needed a good 4 days open in bottle with a stopper to fully open. Once open it was quite nice: good dark fruit, touch of earth, eucalyptus, and good black pepper spice. Carmenere is such a good grape. Yum. — 6 years ago
