Very complex. Apricot shines through. Tastes of baked cake. Forward, but not too flowery. — 8 years ago
When it was opened the nose was shy, 30 minutes later it opened up to a smooth and elegant wine with fruit and soft tannins. Solid and good drinking. Cork was in great shape!! 56 year old wine that has held up beautifully.🍷🍷 — 9 years ago
Beautiful herbs and red fruit, little bit of funk, classic. — 5 years ago
Perfect with duck but still needs some cellar time...perhaps 3 more years. — 7 years ago
is anything else needed to ride out the final frozen days of March? gorgeous Syrah-based #wine (look for St. Joseph - this one smooth, blackberry/minerally gem) and a cone of double-fried fries? #Rhone #WineWednesday — 8 years ago
Spot-on, classic, perfectly delineated Saint Joseph. This is the elegant and pretty side of Syrah. Flowing waves of violets and black pepper lift effortlessly out of the glass with bright red fruits. Mid palate is silk and nearly weightless with fine tannins. Low alcohol and neutral oak profile allow for a very pure expression. Hints of game on the finish with a lingering minerality and a fresh, spicy peppercorn character that would be lovely with a variety of meats and herbs. Beautiful wine that I look forward to revisiting over the next 2-3 years. — 8 years ago
Oily and beautiful. Not brimming with acidity that will shoot to the stars, but it's softer palate feel is welcomed and very pleasant to sip on. — 9 years ago
Super elegant. Red fruits, earthy, leather and little bit of mushroom. — 6 years ago
Fresh and complex, honeysuckle and almond notes and buttery finish. Pairs well with salmon. — 7 years ago
Needed almost an hour decant to settle down after an awkward open, revealing a nose of dark cherry and strawberry, cedar. This wine compels, getting over its skis and driving a core of sexy tannins surrounding ripe, mineral-rich earth-tones and more dark cherry. Superb. At least 5 maybe 10’years to go. — 7 years ago
Litt såpete. Syns rødvin kan skape en ekstra flapp på tungen bak. Som når du smaker chili. Legger seg bak. Ellers god — 8 years ago
