Drank beside a '96 and was the better bottle for me. Much fresher and approachable. Very similar nose, but this had darker juicier fruits on the palate. Seems to hold its structure better for longer.

Light berry and woody nose, beautiful. Dark core of sweet cherry with an acidity that suggests this has a very long way to go. Would have guessed an '05. Big and round, purity of fruit resonates on long finish.

Color is fading but no real bricking yet. Typical barnyard nose (but not unpleasant). Kirsch with a hint of mint. Tannins still providing nice structure. Finish is fairly long. While this isn't going to get any better it is drinking really well now.
