More advanced than the last bottle, initially I thought too advanced… but credit to the Somm at The Modern for talking me off the metaphorical ledge. Developed nicely in glass, more honey than creaminess. Wouldn’t give bottles any more time. — 5 months ago
A new fave! Delicious wine for a great price. Light funk on the nose, but bright mélange of apple and peach. Lafon négociant label. Great recommendation for chard haters. — 9 months ago
When Lafon is on they’re as good as any name in white burgundy. 2012 Genevrieres is an absolute banger, seamlessly balanced between richness and elegance and perfectly developed wafting waves of defined fruit, pastry cream, butterscotch and toasted almonds within its layered minerality. It wraps around the palate with incredible texture, concentration and density with a massively long, silky finish. Crazy good. — 2 months ago
Killer Macon Chardonnay. Tart green apple, wet rock, hint of lemon zest, used oak? Have had several bottles already. Will age well but can’t keep my hands off of it. Crisp acidity. Way over delivers for a Macon Chard. — 4 months ago
“We don’t make bad wine in Napa Valley” just about sums it up. — 8 months ago
Grand Finale bottle with Madi in NYC. Had high hopes for throttle given the vintage but didn’t really have the fruit for it to hold up. Searing acid and nuclear reduction which I love but just savory notes. — 9 months ago
Despite being ‚just‘ a Bourgogne this is excellent although at 43$ not cheap for a Bourgogne. No formal notes but trust me this is excellent. It’s a 1er Cru level wine at a very reasonable price point. Grapes are from Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. Whole cluster pressed. So the wine is complex. Great texture! — 5 months ago
Typical. Refreshing — 8 months ago
Always a classic. Still a (relative) value. Balance, structure, texture, tension, integration and length. Just great winemaking. Benchmark Chard. — 8 months ago
