2021 is seemingly turning into the year of Champagne for me and I gotta say, I could get used to this. Lilbert et Fils BdB GC NV comes in a rather unassuming package but more than makes up for it in substance. The nose is distinctive with aromas of slightly under ripe Taleggio and apples. On the palate, apples and citrus with lovely, persistent acid. Don’t sleep on this. — 5 years ago
Excellent BdB. Acid on acid on acid on acid. This drinks like laser beams. Lemon and Granny Smith apple with just a slight bit of toasted brioche on the finish. Still pretty austere at this stage—I feel like a few years in the cellar would make this even more interesting. 2015 base. Disgorged November 2018. — 6 years ago
2013 base, discorged 2015, 3g dosage. Absolutely wonderful Champagne. Golden hue. Orchad fruit, toasty notes and some butter. Quite substantial and powerfull BdB. On the palate this has some real authority following the nose. Orange, pear, minerality. Firm, lively with long lingering aftertaste of citrus notes and minerality. No hurry to drink but already in a great spot. — 7 years ago
Next to Salon this is my favourite BdB vintage drop @ £114 & it's well worth it as a treat 😍
🍷 Golden straw
👃 Toasted brioche, sticky toffee pudding, butterscotch whip, charred citrus zest & crushed rock
👄 Med bodied persistent fine mousse ooozing toffee green sour apples, minerals, lime driven subtle citrus & honey caramel biscuit in med acidity
🎯 Long slight dry minerally citrus, caramel green sweet & sour apple w/ biscuity coating — 8 years ago

Terrific vintage BdB from Schramsberg. Lemon curd and orange marmalade notes remind me of the last few bottles of PIper Cuvée Rare 2002. Definite RS with the doseage. Oak notes coming thru as well. Wouldn’t pair with seafood apps. It OS the app. Showstopper for $31. Mind blown. — 4 years ago
Very nice clean BdB. — 6 years ago
A great value BDB - fresh & alive! — 7 years ago
Always a favorite BdB. Glad to have snagged the last bottle from the great Marta Champagne list. The illustrious Le Mesnil produces what is likely the best expressions of Chardonnay in Champagne. The 2010 shows a bit more age than the 2009 I had recently, (therefore more ready to drink too), but it’s still very fresh and vibrant and in a terrific place showing great appeal, charm and rounded flavors. Zalto Bordeaux was the perfect vessel. — 4 years ago
I wish I could have had two more glasses of this laser like focus of citrusy pillowy brioche bread, excellent BdB from your favorite @Scott Petrus — 7 years ago
The 2008 BdB Pol Roger has apples and lemon, and some Christmas stuffing characteristics too. Very open and inviting.
Bringing in the New Year quietly but happily, having spent the latter part of the day hanging art while a stew slowly cooked. Cara is 7+ months along so not really holding her own when it comes to Champagne, or any wine for that matter. Extra glasses for me... — 7 years ago
One of my favourite hidden gem BdB champagnes that I loved in 90 & 96 so excited to try the 02 @ £140 that was a generous gift 😍 Tied with string to hold the cork 👍

Killer BdB. Intense acid, lemon curd, and some awesome sea aromas (not salinity). Would love to revisit in 8 years — 4 years ago
