One of the wines I had in 2008 that made me fall in love with wine was a Côte du Rhone by JL Chave "Mon Coeur". It's been a long time since I had a Rhone wine, I got this from Kermit Lynch shop in Berkeley, Cali. Nice notes of pepper and spice, gamy, good tannins from Syrah. Another good find from Kermit... Juicy deliciousness. Loads of complex, mineral notes, it seems different every time I breathe in the aromas. Sandalwood, cherries, and flint. Cassis, rhubarb and wet granite on the palate, long finish, great now but will age if one can resist temptation. Vive la France! — 11 years ago
