My in-laws frequent Cabo often and claim that they’ve found some impressive wines from Mexico/Baja region. They enjoy fine wine, so I trusted their opinion and went hunting. This winery is supposedly one of the top wineries in Mexico, and I was able to find the last 3 bottles (at the time) in the US as the winery was sold out. We had dinner with them at my wife and I’s favorite spot in Fort Worth and I surprised them with this wine.
Pours dark and inky. Aromatically, this was a circus bash of red, blue and black fruit. There was also some black peppercorn and cedar. The front and mid-palate were dense...oak wasn’t dominant, just an absolute rush of fresh squeezed fruit. Finish was spice driven. Blind, I would have likely called this a zin/petite sirah blend (but structure kept this from being an overblown, hot, flabby Napa style zin). Very unique and enjoyable. 1974 Heitz Martha's Vineyard. Drank at dinner in A&S's house w Iana and K. Very interesting to drink this wine as a comp to 1986 BV LaTour and compared to the magnum we drank in Cabo a few months ago. Much more vegetal than I remembered from the large format, but well balanced and enjoyable. We preferred this to the 1986 LaTour. — 10 years ago
Very nice Chard, lighter on the oak (but not completely unoaked), but feels local and enjoying it (Cabo Xmas 2014) — 11 years ago

1990 Gianfranco Soldera Riserva Brunello. Drank at Flora Farms in Cabo. Much bigger wine with higher acid than the Echezaux. Great food wine we really enjoyed. — 10 years ago
A new wine for us that we found on the list at Chamuyo in Cabo. This is a full bodied Malbec from Argentina that drinks a lot like a cab. Big, beautiful fruit, soft around the edges and a really nice finish. So good with the Argentinian food and meat of course! Fair value for sure at $93 on the list. — 10 years ago

Dark yellow hue, so you'd think there was age, but 2013 vintage. Delicious and a perfect pairing for any meal in Cabo. — 8 years ago
Lots of dark fruits and tannins. Some oak. Little cedar or tobacco. Could have a little more depth. — 10 years ago
