Gina Gallo signature series cabernet sauvignon 2013. OUTSTANDING!!!!!! 95% cab, 3% petit verdot, 2% petite Sirah. Very dark opaque.... um um already. The bouquet is Lavender and fresh picked blueberries. The initial palate is amazingly sweet but not sticky!!!! I let it decant for 30 min after the first 2 oz. POW! I was not expecting anything from Gallo to be this good. There is ripe blackberry of coarse, boysenberry, rhubarb, and sweet raspberry int the beginning. The wine quickly brings to the palate hints of chocolate and fig. No spice. No oak. Maybe some vanilla. The the finish brings in the dry lip licking goodness and there comes the spice in the finale. This rounds it off to perfection. I know she worked hard to get this one. Congratulations Miss Gallo! I’m finally blown away by Gallo wines. I’ll be getting a whole lot more this while it lasts!!!!!! Oh did I mention its only 40 dollars a bottle!!!!!!!!!!!!!! — 7 years ago
Very deep caramel with golden light edges. Bouquet of chocolate and int. Unctuous. Intense dried fruit, currants, prunes. Much more acidity and less honey/nuts than the recent 20 and 30 yr olds. Seems a different style even, but this particular bottle is from an earlier production. (It's more than 10 yrs old itself, maybe they've changed style?) — 9 years ago

Nice spicy notes, full body. DW: Prana is a delightfully pure expression of Tempranillo that undergoes carbonic maceration (50%), is fermented with only wild yeasts, then aged in stainless steel tanks and before bottling with very minimal SO2. It's spicy Tempranillo treated like Beaujolais- RIO-JOLAIS! It boasts succulent red berry fruit, mouthwatering acidity, and impressive minerality- characteristics of the grape that are often destroyed by heavy handed farming of overripe fruit or masked by oak, common practices int he region. We can't get enough of this wine just a little bit chilled! $19 — 9 years ago

Delicious with grilled ribeye. Fresh but rich berries aromas. Dusty in the mouth. Elegant tannin. Acidity is so nice in this wine to be paired with fatty ribeye. Juicy int a bit sweet ever so slightly in the back. Layered and complex. — 7 years ago
