15 hectares 2001 & 2003 no more rights to plant only 1000 hectares in the bolgheri region. A blend of 60 CS 30 mr & 10 cf very rich soils sunshine very juicy consistent dark currant and dark plum smooth and polished on the tongue. Very balanced and fresh dark coco and sweet herbs. Antinori Wine Dinner. A unique dessert pairing. Ricotta flan w/gorgonzola fondue, and...a Merlot? This worked surprisingly well...more like a cheese and Bordeaux mashup. This vintage was more problematic and the wine was a bit harsher than ‘15 or ‘16. — 5 years ago
At first, this wine seemed slightly over the hill. Not sure if it was pairing with food, some aeration or the alcohol (in my head) that let this wine blossom in the glass. This wine sings after 30 minutes. Somewhat soft and round with lots of structure and backbone making a for a great balanced wine. — 7 years ago
Élégant nose with peppermint, chocolate , red fruit. In mouth powerful tannins too oaky now, should stay in cellar for 10 more years — 9 years ago
