Yellow golden color causing angst of oxidation but no worries as wine is fine. Mature Tropical floral notes with hints of stones. Great firm textures still with a bite and long tingling finish. Great wine with Asian dishes. First experience with 43-45-12 VRM blend from Catalyuna. AA18 by mistake but worthwhile and could go to AA5. And have done so! More to come. — 6 years ago
Aged beautifully over the past 7 years. Great mouthfeel, no tannins. Expressive nose. Paired great with cheese and meat. — 7 years ago
Beautiful Malbec. Nose of red fruits. Full bodied, dry and with great structure. Hints of vanilla, and the minerality and acidity of altitude malbecs. Smooth and long. Great example of a well done malbec. — 8 years ago
Nose has summer roses, cut cherries, mashed raspberry, stainless steel, minor flint, blood orange peel and dried rose; additional development with each swirl & sniff.
Palate has dried raspberry, dried orange peel, warm green herbs, dehydrated peach, mild tannins (wow), lengthy finish with minor dehydrated tart cherry. Such an experience with a barrel aged rosé!
Future bottles on 2018 should be held until 2026+
Grenache 45% / Mourvèdre 30% / Cinsaut 5% / 20% Field Blend including Syrah, Castet, Manosquin, Carignan & various Muscatel
Bottle No. 057148 | Lot 0603
Decanted 4h. I will endeavour to follow the development of this bottle over the coming days.
24 Hour Update: Fresh raspberry most prominent today on the nose. Palate is showing raspberry jam with minor leather notes.
48 Hour Update: Fresh & dried raspberry, fresh rose, bowl of fresh cherries, moist cedar plank and dry sandstone on the nose. Palate is showing dried strawberry, dried raspberry, minor green herbs, dried orange peel and minor dried cherry. This bottle looks to finally unknitting towards its greater self.
72 Hour Update: See 48 Hour notes, plateaued to a good spot still. Enough wine left for one more update.
192 Hour Update: Nose has cranberry jelly, ripe raspberry, warmed cherries, fresh cranberry and dried orange peel. Palate has raspberry juice, freshly juiced cherry, cranberry juice cut with water, dried orange and minor dried herbs. Still doing great, on day eight. Final update. — 6 years ago

Paul T, Missing My Beautiful Wife 24/7
Actually preferred this over the Inertia, just my opinion for early drinking .String barrel on nose. Ripe black fruit. Dense on palate. Dark fruit. Good flow. Strong barrel. — 8 years ago
04’ Joseph Phelps Insignia . Thought it would be close to a pop & pour...NO! Thick tannins that dissipate nicely after a 45 minute decant. Full - bodied.
Color- Dark purple
Nose- Flowers , lavender
Palate- Blackberry , espresso, light oak, nicely integrated acidity.
WOW... Seamless/smooth.
Drinking- now with another 5+? great years. Could possibly be many more. Drinking so nicely, why wait. — 8 years ago

Time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday.
Purple in color with a purplish rim.
Fruity nose of black plums, black currants, oak, spices, tobacco, vanilla, licorice, light alcohol, blueberries, light earth, pencil lead, coffee, chocolates and peppercorn.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, chocolates, tobacco and peppercorn.
Short finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a young red blend from Columbia Valley. Fruit forward with a nice mouthfeel.
A good everyday wine to sip on by the porch. Easy drinking, tangy and interesting.
Good now, and will be better in a couple of years. Good by itself or with food. I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.
A blend of 45% Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Syrah and Grenache. Aged for 9 months in neutral oak barrels.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

Had at an at hone wine tasting and Eric really enjoyed it (I only had a sip so have no opinion). Reg $45 on sale for $40, and Eric would buy it again. — 7 years ago
Someone said natural. Think this is organic farming but I don’t think this is natural wine. Pierre Gauthier, almost 40 acres of Clay/Limestone Tufa in Benais outside of Bourgeuil. Probably just over $25-$30retail, $45-$60 on a wine list. Smoking good. The composite rating here is insanely low for the QPR. Everyone should be drinking these wines. This is a great wine in the grand scheme of things, it’s all about perspective. Entry level wine, the Jour de Soif has no oak, bright fruit, amazing green edge. There is a wet tobacco thing. Classic wine! Love it. — 7 years ago
Used to utilize it exactly as the name suggests. Giving away to ladies to make their life a bit sweeter. It does work. No chocolate, a very thin may be even subtle aroma. Currant, a bit of other dark berries and spices taste. This one had better years and hopefully some good ones ahead. — 8 years ago

Cherry, leather and almond on the nose, with hinds of spice and some acidity. On the palate the sweetness of the cherry is followed by notes of vanilla, acidity and some chocolate. Well balanced, medium acidity and medium integrated tannins. — 3 years ago
