Delectable post No. 2000.
It's been a long journey since joining this wonderful community; Meeting lots of like-minded people via comments, and some in person, Trading bottles with new friends and learning about new wines/beers along the way, Expanding my palate and my mind! Thank you everyone!
I could have posted lots of different wines for this bottle, but really wanted to open one that brings great satisfaction in our household.
Nose is toasty brioche, bruised pear, slightly oxidative and a minerally quince jam. Ultra clean, creamy palate reflecting the same notes.
Relaxing by a fire in the chimenea this afternoon. We're having a mild February day, sunny and it warmed up to ~45°F. — 6 years ago

Boca wine dinner. Now this was good... Let it sit for an hour and the air creates an entirely different full bodied taste. Planning on trading Wells a bottle of Quilceda Creek Galitzine for this... — 7 years ago
Not so bitter, French oak so elegant. concentrated and much more fruity to 2015, since it's made from 1 barrel per 1 acre @2500, TWSFestival Yuan Chang Trading Gary, 171119
This second time is to taste it on full bottle basis. After stable, sweet aroma can be felt. Taste is juicy, violet and raisin flavor as well. We can feel its body weight. But not chocolate like, elegant. Change a lot over time. Valuable one. Good balance with spicy. @,,180306 — 8 years ago
From Trading Places movie - "Feeling good, Billie Ray" and followed by "Looking good, Louis" - using that to describe this wine - which is another big bold beautiful Napa cab with juice from the Beckstoffer to Kalon vineyard - decanted for three hours - it is ready and will deliver - Smiles for everyone (well I hope everyone but for sure I have one) — 9 years ago

Loved this, had it at Macau Trading Co. Biscuity, drinkable. Might be my favorite under $50 — 6 years ago
Collected and elegant and without much bravado. Tart and subtle red cherry + strawberry, little flowers that seem to be magically bursting through concrete, dusty gravel that reminds you of playing in a forest with a rocky path that always coated your shoes and jacket with it's scent because you took them off and left them there for hours even though it was cold because that was an acceptable thing to do as a child with no sense of mortality, trading the warmth of cloth instead for reddened cheeks, cool air in your lungs and tiny cuts on your feet. — 8 years ago
Dark compostables and black leaves decompose atop a chocolate ganache aswim in robust coffee and an earthen, near-mushroom fragrance. Molten chocolate cake, crispy espresso bean, coffee liqueur, and a svelte combo of perfectly integrated cedar, chocolate biscotti, burnt brownie on iron, and a backnote of tea tree oil. Blackbeard' breakfast included toast.

Weiser-Künstler’s entry-level Feinherb (off-dry) Riesling from old, biodynamically-farmed terraced vineyards around Traben-Trarbach, a picturesque town on the Mosel and once a major wine trading hub rivaling Bordeaux. Light and super refreshing with delicate aromas of green apples, cantaloupe and floral notes. Chalk, mineral character and bright acidity. — 6 years ago
Our first stop on the Cape was the historic Estate of Klein Constantia, established in 1685 by the VOC Governor of the Cape, Simon van der Stel. The Dutch established the Western Cape wine growing region in the 1600’s as a rest and resupply stop for their trading ships sailing around Africa enroute to their many trade partners of the Far East etc..
The nose reveals; slightly bruised apple & pear, white citrus, notes of apple cider, white peach, cream, vanillin notes, nice, soft chalkiness, gentle minerality with spring flowers and yellow lilies.
The body is quite light, lively, tightly beaded, rich creamy texture, slightly bruised apple & pear, white citrus, notes of apple cider, white peach, cream, vanillin & ginger notes, nice, soft chalkiness, heavier minerality one palate than the nose with spring flowers and lilies.
Photos of, their Estate vines with the majestic mountains painting the background, A-frames for riddling the new vintage of this sparkling wine, the grounds surrounding the Estate and their tasting bar. — 7 years ago

Rick bought this from a trading at total wine. I like it better than I anticipated. The main for I detect is pine. — 8 years ago
From the folks who brought you (in label order from top to bottom) Anamoly and Zeitgeist, Hyde de Villaine and Long Meadow Ranch, Terra Valentine, Massican and Larkmead, Hobel and Milton Road Trading Co., lead by a Master Sommelier employed by Dana Estates, previously with Harlan, Bond, and Promontory, and the sell side being handled by a VP of marketing from Michael Mondavi's Folio.
The stated goal was to create the best pound for pound Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa (highest QPR). The band pooled resources and pulled favors, sourcing the grapes from "one of 'those' vineyards" that cannot be named due to a NDA. 18 months in 1-year old French oak. 15% Merlot and 2% Cab Franc round the balance of Cabernet Sauvignon.
I knew going in this would not be an over extracted fruit bomb, but upon opening I had my concerns that this might be too far in the opposite direction. Fortunately, after 30-45 minutes, it started adding weight like a prize fighter after weigh-in. Acacia flowers, melted licorice, black fruit, with plenty on mineral laced, satiny tannin. Give this an hour, wait for your second glass, and it will envelop you. 93+
And for the record, my guess is they sourced the grapes from a Spring Mountain vineyard. — 9 years ago
