Great hints of spice, mocha and chocolate. Enjoyed it so much I finished it and needed a second bottle! Haha — 9 years ago
How'd the 375ml of '59 Chevy w mid-shoulder fill show?
#LIKEABOSS!
Nose of crushed leather furniture, cigar box, fig, Christmas cake, plum & hints of a red cherry cordial
Still a pop of acidity with the fruit, but richness dominated adding raisin to the flavors along w feral animale & shaved dark chocolate taking over on the lengthy finish — 9 years ago
Birthday wine for my babe. Balanced wine with prickly tannins. Herbal and chocolate in the nose. Still can age more — 5 years ago
I was given this bottle at a milestone birthday 10 years ago and drank it to celebrate another milestone birthday. Given that I rarely have the patience to wait for my wine to arrive at its next place, I was really looking forward to having this one. It was terrific. Deep integrated flavors and a softening tannin structure that has given way to a deeply satisfying experience. Very much enjoyed this and can see why this wine gets high marks year in and year out. — 5 years ago

Happy birthday J. Fantastic at 38 years. Not showing any ill affects of age. Velvety with nice juicy fruit and secondary notes of leather, bitter chocolate, forest floor and only soft thread of tertiary notes on the finish. Still had tannins. This was 2 of 2 and this drank as good, if not better, than the one last year. A pleasure.

Needless to say, we slayed some dragons tonight. Let the birthday week continue!
Believe it or not, after all the wine we had, this was my wife's favorite. Took us a while to identify the main component of the nose, but I figured it out...shaved coconut! Never had a wine with a nose like this. It was mixed with vanilla on the palate. If you have these, open them! — 8 years ago
Smooth and spicy. Great with a steak and chimichurri Sauce. Affordable. Dark currant and tobacco. Let it breathe. — 9 years ago
Birthday wine paired with prime rib caps. This was the wine of the night.🍷 Deep purple red with skin staining sediment. Complex and balanced and a joy to drink the entire meal on my 75th birthday. The perfect match for a wonderful day.😎👍🍷 — 5 years ago
First, cheers to Delectable working again after two weeks on the fritz.
This is our kickoff to the Memorial Day weekend. Hope everyone has a good one on tap with some of your favorite wines. So, happy Memorial Day weekend all!
Then, a garden update. We really enjoy watching it grow. You can see it daily.
The top pictures were taken May 1st. The bottom pictures are from today, May 21st. All that crazy growth in just 20 days. Amazing!!! 🍅 🌱🥬🥒🌽
As for the Ruinart, it is appreciable better using my new Riedel Vintage Sommelier Champange flute. Well worth the investment. These are a late birthday gift from our friends James & Christina. Thank you. The nose & palate much more vibrant. More on that as the weekend progresses. Cheers!🥂 — 5 years ago
Oldie but a goodie — 6 years ago
Had two bottles of these to serve at a dinner for my daughter’s 21st birthday. They were wonderful wines, still lively and with plenty of full mouth for its 21 year age. But it also had that long finish of earth and dark cherry pit that well aged Bordeaux can have. It was enjoyed by all present. — 7 years ago
Sitting on the roof watching the sunset. This wine has a nice aftertaste cherryish and a slight hint of chocolate. Its smooth and refreshing, I will drink it again. — 9 years ago
