Holding up great, this has plenty of fruit and terrific balance of acid. Black tea and earth flavors in abundance on the medium-long finish. No hurry to drink the other two bottles in the rack. — 4 years ago

Mid crimson in colour with pale tinges. A brilliant perfumed nose with Cherries Stalks and a vegetal note. Palate staining intensity with a finish that goes On and On. An amalgam of flavours. I have often written on Delectable that this is Australia’s Best Pinot Noir producer and a wine like this just reinforces that view. Every now and again you will have a marvellous Bindi, By Farr, Yabby Lake or the many great Pinot’s coming from Tasmania but for consistency it has to be Bass Phillip. In summary whether you like the Old World or New World this is gorgeous Pinot Noir. — 5 years ago
Raspberries. Not full bodied but stands up to meat. — 6 years ago
Very nice! My first wine from Corsica France — 7 years ago
Mid Lemon. A nose of citrus but a palate of stone fruit. White peach and cream. Palate staining intensity with great length. Oak is totally integrated into the fruit at 9 years. Used to be regarded as Australia's premier Chardonnay and probably still is depending on your style preference. Other Margaret River icons plus Giaconda , Oakridge and Bindi amongst others in the East also vying for the mantle. World class. Halliday once compared the 1987 to a premier Cru Puligny. — 7 years ago
Mom and Dad like ok. — 3 years ago
We last had a bottle on 11th July 2020 and this time it showed better. Red savoury fruits mainly cherry and a plum skin note. Still with that burnt bracken note which is not unattractive. On the palate like Bass Phillip but more succulent. The Macedon Ranges just north of Melbourne is a proven good area for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay - a neighbour being the highly credentialed Bindi Wines. — 4 years ago
Lovely. Summer lemons and bright fruit. — 5 years ago
Bright ruby red; Nose: raspberry, leather, smoke; Palate: slight salinity, red fruit, medium body, medium acid, grippy but relenting tannins. — 5 years ago
Holy moley, what a gratifying wine. Uniquely farmy, bloody, tarpauliny, fruity nose- full blown Hermann Nitsch tableau- but follows that with a beautifully deft drink. — 7 years ago
Sour red cherries, wild strawberry, horse shit, mushrooms. Wild acidity. Years ahead of it. Fresh. Vital. — 7 years ago
My first Joshua Cooper wine - had to check out the Young Winemaker of the year for 2020 awarded by Gourmet Wine Traveller magazine. Joshua has recently turned 32. This wine was quite rich and dense and a little closed aromatically - obviously quite young. Ripe plum, rose petals, with a little vegetal matter. - a big future ahead. Joshua has had wide experience with Australian wineries and in Burgundy with Domaine de la Vougeraie and Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron. This wine from the cool climate Macedon Ranges with high profile neighbours like Bindi and Curly Flat. — 3 years ago
Aramasa Cosmos 2017. Aramasa spins rice into a Godly liquid - quite unlike any other brewery. I've expressed my love for this brewery many times before, and I'm sure this won't be the last. Everything I've drunk from Aramasa moves the heart and only they could have pulled off being the beverage of the afternoon amongst a Keller and Bindi.
Rice wine kabi. Pours and looks like mineral water, but sports the texture of engine oil in the palate. There's a certain roundness and softness to the saké, but without any undue weight. So elegant and pure. Impeccable balance of sweetness and acidity.
NB: Made using Karyoshinko rice, the rice Aramasa is most known for. Junmai Ginjo, 40% polishing rate. Can't read Japanese, but Google Translate seems to indicate that there was some wood used - Hmmm. Tasting notes seem to use the word smooth, which I agree. Lots of sake lovers claim this to be the best of Aramasa's colour series. Had the Viridian, Lapiz Lazuli, and now this one - not sure which I'd call best. They were all so delicious, granted I only tasted them once. The Viridian has the advantage of totally changing my perception on saké. Would love the opportunity of tasting the series in a horizontal, and even more so in a vertical. — 5 years ago

Pale to mid Lemon in colour. Smells like it could be lean - Lemons and white flowers but it’s quite fulsome on the palate with white peach and a saline touch. I have to agree with Tanzer’s note with aromas of citrus peel and wet stone. Sometimes I have a high quality Australian Chardonnay like Leeuwin Art Series, Bindi Quartz or Penfolds Yattarna and wonder why I would bother with a more expensive Premier Cru white Burgundy. Once I tasted this I could see where that extra $100 went. — 3 years ago
