Got a tremendous deal on this one. Nice expression of a CA Zin, look elsewhere for subtlety. Not the late harvest style, it's mostly dry despite its ripeness. 16.4% ABV allegedly, didn't taste as much heat though.
Winemaker's comment: Rich bouquet. Big, bright, ripe complex fruity flavors. Mouth filling. Balanced fruit and acid. — 10 years ago
The good stuff, old school peppery black fruit zin, with rabbit tobacco and rain touched moss on the nose, adding to the old school Clapton blues rifts filling the air at my hometown local bistro (SoundSide; check the fresh locally grown organic vegetables and our ocean ahi sashimi/homecomings can be so sweet, like owner/operator Lauren) all so groovy😎, not unlike Ravenswood, itself/themselves...

I love zins, this is not a typical zin. If you don't like zins normally then hit this bad boy up. You might change your mind. — 11 years ago

Tasty!! Sweet, very slightly dry, strong cherry notes, with a touch of cranberry, cardamom, and vanilla. The nose is extremely pleasant, full of cherry and oak. Very, very nice — 9 years ago
Gotta love Ravenswood wines! Not a big zin fan but this is good. Not to dry either — 9 years ago

Big and fruity, but not overly sweet. A nice, full bodied and balanced zin. — 10 years ago
Big, bold blackberry flavour with a spice to its finish. It'd be great with barbecue! — 10 years ago

I love it when you can have a big, slutty, oaked up Zin and still have it come across as relatively restrained in the category. Some days you just want to go there with a grilled rib eye. Still could use a couple years to settle in, though. — 9 years ago
