Cigar Zin Old Vine California Zinfandel

I really liked this wine and not just because it has the word "cigar" in it but that did help ;-)
Bright red fruit bordering jam-land and unapologetically so; oak and smoke. Lighter bodied than expected; cocoa notes on the finish.

Lighter bodied but still big enough for this Zin fan. Well-balanced. Would buy again.

Bought it for $12.99. After decanting, aroma is still mellow but has notes of bittersweet chocolate, thyme, and rosemary. Also an unsweet vintage port. Taste is medium to full body. It's a bit hot. This is why it is a cheap wine: it's hard to nail the flavors that are going on. Good for a cheap wine.

Very pleasing, spicy tobacco flavors, paired with thick juicy grilled ribeye...yum!
