Deep woods, dirt, blood, on the nose . Lots of blue/red fruits. A bit tight, I PnP, gave it a good 45 mins out. I get some wood… now that could be my weird post covid mouth….or not.
A ‘16 from Castelletto, lush and forward, but I sense lots of aging potential. I have 1 more. No rough edges, a bit of acidity on the back which is nice and lifting.
Tannins nicely integrated and fine. Manzone’s site only indicates neutral casks, not what wood specifically.

One of the best wines I’ve had in my life. Truly spectacular. All the things were there. Structure, balance, the fruits of Barolo, all of it. No sense in going over it. Memorable to say the least — 4 years ago

Fantastic value wine with rich flavors. Baby barolo — 5 years ago
Wonderful flavor. Not to overbearing for a red, but not to watery either. Great with pasta or by itself. Enjoyed it :)

Hitting its stride. Well balanced with smooth finish. Dare I say a little Burgundian - very light with a touch of cherry. — 7 years ago
