Tried ‘14 & ‘15 together. The name of the estate comes from "Ca' Pazzo", shown on ancient maps. Caparzo is owned by Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini, she also owns Altesino. Deep Ruby with berry fruit aromas with cedar, herbs and smoke, aged for 2 years on oak. On the palate cherry, plum & cranberry flavors, with leather, cacao, spice and tobacco notes. Lively acidity, fine approachable tannins, long ending with spicy oak finish. ‘15 a bit better! — 4 years ago
All hail queen Elisabetta. Violet candy, earth, citrus, purple fruits. Funk meets Rayas in Tuscany? Love. — 5 years ago
Very fruity, raspberry taste, good balance between Sangiovese and Grenache. WS100 @, FanX, 180603 — 7 years ago

This is a incredible wine consider its costs and quality! It’s 24 years old and still rocking, and ok it’s one thing to mention I’m for years in love with the winemaker. Those of us who had the privilege to met Elisabetta nows I’m right with my love for her. She’s a star in the region and is the maker of some great white and red wines. This Sono is made of 100% Sangiovese and is a clear and pure wine, it’s wonderful matured and very rich of dark fruit and some dried meat. I’m so surprised this wine survived so well and still has years ahead. Give it time and air and you will be rewarded with a great wine. 94 points and 1 point because I love her! — 4 years ago

Big wine, ready to drink. Beautiful color with no sign of oxidation at the edges. Plenty of mature fruit forward after open for 20 minutes. Tannic backbone evident and dissipates slowly.
Dark cherry emerges after 45 minutes with plenty of spice.
Love it! Elisabetta Fanetti is carrying on the the legacy of great wines produced by her father...

ビンテージが変わって2013。
黒や赤の凝縮された果実味。
でも、どこかまろやかさを伴う。
いつ飲んでも樽っぽいニュアンスを感じてしまうのだが…ステンレス。 — 8 years ago
Concentrated cherry and singing acidity. One of my favorites from Elisabetta and back on our list. — 8 years ago
This is a biodynamically-produced Cabernet Franc wine from Costa Toscana IGT, a coastal subregion within Toscana IGT, in Tuscany, Italy. 🇮🇹
Given their proximity to the coast of the Ligurian Sea, the vines likely experienced coastal influences, such as sea breezes and fog. 🌊
Although not native to Italy, Cabernet Franc thrives in this kind of environment with cooling factors and soil comprised of clay, schist, and limestone. 🍷 And while Cabernet Franc typically finds itself playing a supporting role (such as in a Bordeaux blend), with this wine, it’s captivating at center stage. 💫
To help promote the purity of fruit character, the winemaker used a percentage (15%) of whole cluster berries in the fermentation process and aged this wine 10 months in stainless steel, rather than oak. 👌👌👌👌
Ampeleia is the name of the producer, born out of a collaboration among friends Elisabetta Foradori, Giovanni Podini and Thomas Widmann. 💕💕
We’re loving this wine, which is bright, yet structured, featuring concentrated red fruit aromas and flavors, such as ripe cherry, strawberry, kirsch, plum, also bubblegum, violet, dried lavender, wet clay, wet earth, peat, tobacco, and vegetal notes.
Ampeleia, Cabernet Franc, Costa Toscana IGT, vintage 2018, ABV 12.5%.

Elisabetta Foradori is on a very short list of natural winemakers who have a history of what I’d call dedicated unrecklessness. It isn’t enough to make wine without anything added or taken away. The best natural winemakers make calculated decisions. And she does with her beloved Teraldego- what a grape!
It’s elegant like Pinot but meatier. Pillow plush. There are dark berries, nothing eccentric. Simply restrained, deliberate, conscious, winemaking. — 6 years ago
Very nice - much more aromatic & expressive than I recall with some beautiful ripe pear and nectarines on nose along with flowers, hint of citrus and some musk. Silky on the palate with a bit more body but w/great acidic structure... infinitely drinkable — 8 years ago

Pretty stunning stuff. I can see why people call it the Lafite of Tuscany. Polished but definitely old world. Beautiful nose of pencil lead, cassis and tarry underbrush. Dark, deep, tannic and complex. Needs time and lots of it — 4 years ago
